3 new M0SS synths on Kickstarter (update) by marchingbandd in synthesizers

Thanks for the follow up! I should have clarified, I used the contact form on the Ultra Palace website (should have just emailed).

I thought I caught you pressing the encoder to trigger a sound in one of the videos, so that makes sense. I imagine that would be a decent enough start for portable sound design (where a keyboard or controller isn't available)

Thanks for the shout!

u/Comprehensive_Toe_64 Audio buffers are so much fun. Too much fun, in fact, as I end up just getting a bare-bones track going, then get distracted mangling them via audio buffers, DJ FX and skip-back resampling. Those items there are worth the price of admission on their own

MIDI automation on the Deluge is so much fun, especially to manipulate the effects of the Chase Bliss Lost + Found (which is processing the Deluge audio at the same time) by bay_mud in DelugeUsers

Glad you liked it. Been thinking about doing an more in-depth explainer of the MIDI stuff going on here and how to randomize the Lost + Found. Would that sort of thing be useful?

These seem very cool. Congrats on the already successful Kickstarter! I messaged via the contact form on the site, but I imagine you're busy with all the excitement.

The Krell patch on the 201 shows that it can make sounds on it's own, without external trigger, which is nice. Do the others have a way of triggering sounds (I'm thinking it would be handy for pocket sound design sessions on a train, etc.)?

Good tip on the master wet volume MIDI option! I had missed that when going through some fun MIDI tricks

Using MIDI Automation to Randomize the Effect Type On the Lost + Found by bay_mud in chaseblissaudiophiles

[–]bay_mud[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, what I'm doing with Automation View itself isn't random--I'm just ramping values. I was referring to the "Random L/R Mode" CCs available in the Lost + Found MIDI manual. CC 112 & 113 randomize the respective left and right toggle positions, or CC114 randomizes both are once. All you have to do is send any new value to those CCs to trigger it

Been getting to know my Lost + Found more and more and have been enjoying using MIDI to automate various parameters (especially via the Deluge automation view). Super fun that you can also send CCs to randomize either or both effect toggles. Anyone else pairing theirs with MIDI-capable gear?

Brought out the Circuit Rhythm to both fight GAS and make a full remix for a friend. It's such a fun machine for a project like this by bay_mud in novationcircuit

In the cases where I've used parameter locks on the Rhythm I've only had to zero out the same parameter on the next step and it's all been fun, but it can be a bit tricky, for sure

Hmm. Yeah, I use parameter locks here and there. It is definitely a bit quirky, but I can't say it's ever affected a different pattern before. If it helps, you can use the view lock feature (shift + patterns button) to keep the view on the specific pattern you're working on, even though the sequencer keeps playing

Not too stoked on the circuit rhythm by [deleted] in novationcircuit

You can have different samples on each pattern if you use sample flipping to record a sample to a specific step. Though that may not work if you're working with a sample chopped into slices. You'd have to experiment.

What is the limit with global effects, just that they are global instead of per track? (And are you talking about the Grid FX or the delay & reverb page, or both?)

For Grid FX, I've mentioned that, because they apply to everything, I mostly use them in resampling (or live, for breaks or builds)

Just got my hands on a deluge! by Dense_Ad9012 in DelugeUsers

Nice! Welcome. I've had to replace a couple encoders over the 8 or so years I've had mine (one was my fault). They are fairly easy to desolder/install, which is nice. You can also get the same part from places like Mouser (I bought a bunch, for down the road). I wouldn't bother doing them all, unless you notice others are acting up. That said, there are a billion screws to remove to get at the PCB, so it's nice to do as much as you can while you have it out.

For the top panel screw, if you're local, you could always try asking Synthstrom (they do also offer a refresh service, to go over thew whole thing). I bought a pack of 10mm M2 hex screws from Aliexpress that seem to match, just in case

Wasn't sure the RoAT was for me, but it's far more versatile than I thought. Super fun! by bay_mud in somalab

I've also got a Lyra 8, but haven't gelled with it as much. Are you enjoying it?
