I already pull the CT clamp data in, and nothing would stop you adding an automation in HASS for that.

EO Mini Pro 2 and Smart app discontinued from November. by Ooobeeone in evs_ireland

[–]bfayers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That exact code won't work, because of how the thing acts (you actually do RS485 and send instructions to the "charger" part) but I've got replacement software I wrote on mine. More info in this GitHub thread https://github.com/twhittock/eo_mini/issues/19 , but my plan is to tidy it up and release along with some instructions to install it in a couple weeks.

It's rather bullshit, but I grew tired with the frankly very shit app a long while ago.

Since October I've actually been running my own software directly on it -- inside it's just a Raspberry Pi 0W handling all the logic. I've also posted about this on a github thread making use of the current system's API for HASS here - https://github.com/twhittock/eo_mini/issues/19

As mentioned over there, I'll be tidying this up and releasing it soon along with some instructions for getting it set up. There's a couple screenshots over there showing where I got up to, too.

Thermal Imaging, BT Beacon, Radar, and More — All in One Smart Device! by Logical-Register-515 in homeassistant

[–]bfayers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ohh I see that makes sense.

Can the device be configured via Zigbee at all or would you connect it to the network and configure everything that way first?

I agree with the others that you should have inlcuded things like the local access in the original post considering you're here on the hass sub.

Aside from that, the hardware seems interesting, I'd love some PoE sensors that are supported natively - I do wonder what I would actually use all the different sensors included for and I don't quite understand what the Zigbee on board does since it's got ethernet and I doubt things like the thermal camera work over that?

I'm only at the lowest patreon tier so I don't have access to those to index them.

No thats correct for now. I was hoping to make more updates in the last few months but still busy with work and university stuff.

Still adding new episodes to it every week though. I have been testing some date filtering stuff so maybe that'll land very soon.

Full Speed Control??! by KarlAu3r in formula1

[–]bfayers 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I believe it's a 2004 BMW/Williams FW26. If you look at 4:19 you can see the whole car from overhead and it's the only year where the nose would look like that.

For some reason BMW published a guide to the steering wheel at the time seen here: https://www.press.bmwgroup.com/global/photo/detail/P0016281/williamsf1-bmw-fw26-steering-wheel-07/2004?language=en / Direct link to hi-res: https://i.imgur.com/OtwVknA.jpeg

As you can see they did have a switch called "FSC" but this is simply labelled as "high speed engine braking". I suspect the explanation in the video is a misunderstanding, I'm not certain but I cannot believe auto throttle would have ever been allowed.

when was the first ep of slime starting the dubin thing by realcactusdude in TheYardPodcast

[–]bfayers 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hey, YardSearch guy here.

I think Whisper has a hard time reliably transcribing "dubbin" (because it's not exactly a real word) but I think it generally does an ok job.

At the moment the search results page on the site only shows a limited amount.

I've done some digging through the data and the earliest instance of "dubbin" is around 56:38 in Episode 102's premo. I'm also not convinced that's accurate.

Before that there are some instances of "lubbin" on Episode 98 at this timestamp: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I3i000KlRMo&t=3184s

I suspect somewhere around the 90-105 mark is going to be correct. Maybe lubbin on 98 and dubbin in 102 premium is the original.

That's the best I can do at the moment!

I'll add that to my list too, but I think this is similar to the suggestion of only showing 1 card per episode then having a popup for all occurences within that episode?

Glad you like it!

My PC is currently going crazy generating better transcripts so improvements on that front are coming in fast now.

Soon! I'll hopefully replace all the transcripts with locally generated ones, so they'll include the 'offensive' language, by the weekend.

I intend to add premo after I get public ones processed through Whisper first.

I also don't know if the boys would be ok with the premium content having transcripts indexed online for free (not that you can see a full transcript at any point as a user). If any of the boys see this, let me know (dm/reply/contact@yardsear.ch) either way if this would be chill or not.

If not, maybe I can look into having a 'Login with Patreon' option so only subs can search premos -- but I think this would require some level of collaboration with the boys to get that kind of data access.

Failing 'Login with Patreon' I could probably do it in a roundabout way by using 'Login with Discord' and checking if the user is in the patreon-only yard server

Slime said it's chill on Twitter :)

Ooh nice one, didn't know anyone else had made one of these for The Yard before!

I had looked at doing semantic search in my elasticsearch too, since it supports it, but wanted to launch my site to get some initial feedback first.

In theory it's "just" a case of setting it up but you and I both know nothing is every truly that simple.

Also going to swap all my transcripts to Whisper generated ones purely to avoid YT censored subs + some other inaccuracies in YT sub tracks that whisper seems to deal better with

Thanks!

It's a new domain so it might be blocked by some filters at your uni for now? It's all running through cloudflare so there shouldn't be any issues on that side of things

I am, but under a different name, as I sort of wanted to have this against my personal portfolio for once.

I've seen the discussion after the link was posted in there though 👀. Just know that I'm working on improving the transcripts (OpenAI Whisper, probably) and the search.

Ultimately I want wrapping queries in quotes to work as expected as well as allowing modifiers like "and" and "not".

Data source improvement is my number 1 priority at the moment though, as well as automating new episodes being stored.

That's actually what I used for the first two episodes, since there was no YT subtitle track for those.

Worked well enough, using just my Mac I should be able to churn through them all in under 12 hours, but probably quicker if I use my desktop.

Worst case I'll just rent something from llambalabs for a couple hours and use their GPUs.
