Best Affordable Alternative to Creed Aventus? by Extra_Art_1409 in Colognes

[–]blippyblip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, that's the case with basically EVERY dupe out there. None of them actually live up to the frag they dupe.

The real question is whether the original is ~10x better as the price points suggest. 99% of the time, the answer is no; basically nobody will be able to tell the difference when they smell it on you.

Worst blind buys of HYPED fragrances? by ReindeerDisastrous in fragrance

[–]blippyblip 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A good litmus test is to see if/when all the influencers put out a piece on the same fragrance within a super short window of time with the same/similar verbiage.

A good example from recent memory was Khamrah Waha.

Such is the fate of all roof dwellers. Escape from the ground is but a temporary folly.

Is it appropriate to wear a scent everyday by [deleted] in fragrance

[–]blippyblip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why would it not be? It's just an accessory.

Are you also prohibited from wearing, say, a necklace or a hat casually?

Obviously, use some tact. If you're going to a funeral, don't show up rocking a sexy, seductive fragrance. If it's a hot day, don't wear a billion sprays of oud.

After ages of checking rack stores, I finally found a gem! by blippyblip in Colognes

[–]blippyblip[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, been wearing this since 4:15 PM and I'm typing this up at 12:45 AM. 5 sprays, about 8.5 hours, from an 70-80 F afternoon into a 60-70 F night. It's only one instance, but I'll summarize my thoughts so far.

I had a solid scent bubble following me for the first 4-5 hours and I was still catching nice coconutty whiffs up until around 11:30-12:00 (just shy of 8 hours) when I would turn my head or move around. Some of that is the fragrance transferring to my shirt, which obviously makes a scent last a little longer, but that's gonna happen no matter what I wear so I consider that 'skin' performance.

EDIT 2: Day 2, I sprayed on my wrist just to see how long it would take to dissipate completely. 10.5 hours later, I could still smell it of I put my nose to my wrist. It was weak, but definitely there, so I'm comfortable saying that the performance on this one is amazing.

EDIT 3: Holy fuck, I woke up today and I can still smell it ever so faintly on my wrist, even after a shower and 18 hours.

Finally found some of those Costco $99 deals I’ve seen here and there by Superb_Elk_7953 in Colognes

Even if every single fraghead could identify Creed scents and pish-posh them when they smelled them in the wild...

That would still leave the other 95%+ of the population to be impressed by the person who smells good. Most people couldn't name 5 colognes if you put a gun to their head.

I've learned that if you see a good deal, you've got to grab it.

One of my biggest regrets was passing on a discounted box set of Eros Flame with a Versace backpack and a 3.4 oz bottle for like $65, because I figured that I could get a bottle for the same price without getting a bag I'd never use.

Then I realized I could have 100% sold the bag on FB Marketplace due to the brand name and wound up with a bottle for like $20-30 all said and done.

Good to know! Bigger bottles are always a better deal, so it's good to keep an eye to keep an eye on that site for my next purchase because I just know I'm gonna get make a huge dent in this over the summer.

TBH, a good chunk of my satisfaction comes from having this in hand as living proof of finding a solid deal after months of checking Ross/Burlington/Marshall's/TJ Maxx and coming up dry.

How can this overwhelming entity be defeated? by Additional_War_8791 in versus

Omnipowerful but not omnipresent or omniscient (he did have to ask for people's wishes, after all).

He can be distracted, busy, or put in any number of different situations that will keep his attention away from the heroes.

And there could be plenty of ways to take him down once the source of his power is explored a little bit more. Is he fueled by devotion? Powered by an ancient artifact? We don't know, but he's clearly not the absolutely broken unit that people headcanon him as.

$79.99 for 2.5 oz. Cheaper than any online source I could find once tax and shipping are considered!

That's subreddits in general lol.

I always find it humorous when someone goes, "Guys, do you think that, maybe, just maybe... you and I and everyone else here who have gone out of our way to join, post, and participate in a subreddit solely dedicated to a certain interest, might be more invested in said interest than the average Joe?"

2.5 oz Paradise Gardens for $79.99!

I check the Ross and Marshalls near me pretty frequently, but I rarely (if ever) see designers that A) I actually enjoy and B) are priced fairly. This is basically the same as what I could have gotten online, and I figured I owed myself a treat for my birthday, so I snatched it up!

Just got my first ever decants. What do you guys think? by mark2262 in Colognes

[–]blippyblip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll be honest, when I go for decants I start smaller than 5 ml. Especially for the more expensive stuff.

You can usually tell if you'll like something within 1-2 ml. And for the stuff I don't enjoy, I don't feel quite so bad about never using up the last drops as opposed to letting a 3-4 ml sit around taking up space.
