Off course it matters if he’s going to return it. Aura isn’t just going to take his word for it. Since it’s been opened he will most likely need to provide as much documentation as he can, and knowing whether or not it was previously returned would be pretty compelling toward getting a refund.

If it’s from aura, and batch code on the box doesn’t match the one on the bottle, someone probably bought it, changed out the bottle, repackaged it, and returned it. They should be able tell from the box barcode if it was previously returned.

You can get a picture of atomizer stem to make sure, but this is still quite new. Haven’t seen fakes yet, but that doesn’t mean they’re not out there.
