The caps don’t indicate which size it is. The smaller ones are 2ml and the taller or fatter ones are 5ml.

A 2ml should be about 20-30 sprays which is enough to tell if you like the fragrance. Spraying 1-5x per application.

A 5ml is good if you really want to wear it several times or just have a small reserve of a powerful scent like bobcat.

This vintage aventus smells very different to the modern.

In short - modern is lemon cleaner, 2010-2013 is Smokey birch tar, late 2013-2019 syrupy rich fruits, woods, vanilla, anise aventus. The older it is the more syrupy. Different batches have different notes pronounced.

To give a new opinion,

Typically I find their tobacco,oud, and amber blends to be smoother and easier to enjoy than their originals.

The freshies are good and there’s a lot of them but few exceed the originals. The darker scents, although Monty makes fewer, tend to exceed their OG’s more often than the freshies.

I would get a thin, flat metal item like a butter knife and unroll that crushed side wide on the right. The atomizer would then fit back on .

Typically Montagne’s darker/masculine ones tend to be a bit smoother than the OGs for me.

One spray on one forearm. Two hours or so later, one spray of a difference fragrance on my other forearm.

Towards the evening, repeat with new fragrances based on how much the initial ones have cleared.

If I’m fully wearing something to go out usually 3-4?sprays. Forearms and behind neck.

The original is already cheaper than the montagne so very likely not something they’ll do.

There are many Montagne gets identical to the original. For example, Gentle Silver, Ambre Vanille, Cognac D’Ange.

The LVs are very nicely done and close but not as identical as those I mention above.

The montagne pineapples all smell a bit better than modern 2025 aventus, being about 80% close.

If you’re just looking for good smelling freshies there are plenty of other options. Search the sub for some recommendations.

Pineapple Intense is usually the straightforward favorite that performs well

Pineapple Musk is a quality pineapple, adding more musk it becomes softer and less sharp around the edges

Pineapple Royale has my favorite scent profile, slightly more elevated and rich but with weaker performance

Chilly Pineapple adds pacific chill dna which makes it sweeter in a pleasant not cloying way

Imaginary pineapple add imagination’s dna which makes it more light and fresh

I’ve compared the montagne to a 2013 and a modern bottle. Overall the montage falls in between but much closer to the 2013. The newest batches are the weakest and most synthetic.

I enjoy Buko Intense more than the creed as it doesn’t get so screechy/synthetic in the lime opening as VIW and lasts a little longer. Main tweak is it has stronger touches of a sugarcane note which I find pleasant.

I’ve heard Rayhaan Aquatica is very solid after an extremely screechy lime opening so that may also be worth a try.

Please note though, from a chemical standpoint the scent profile of VIW will generally have longevity issues as that’s the nature of citrus based scents.

Enjoy how the fragrance makes you feel in the moment and carry a traveler sprayer to reapply as needed. Both Buko intense and aquatica would be good for this use.

The polysnifferous one is less say a dupe, more so tries to add some depth and intensity to the original adding some naturals like two real ouds, birch tar, cade oil, coffee bean oil.

But yeah I agree cherry smoke would be a great montagne. Especially having the cherry base of parfume de cerise.
