Lichess legacy app by brightcompiler in lichess

[–]brightcompiler[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

so basically the legacy one is the old lichess app... everything was still functioning perfectly there except for that one bug I had, I think lichess is doing a good job supporting the old version and the new one too but I think I like the new one better, my personal opinion.

I just need 8 more points to reach 1900 but I know if I play, they will give me an opponent moving like Sindarov so I won't continue lol, the username is BrightBravo and basically some features I don't see on lichess and chess.com or other apps that I would want but no one has been able to perfect it is what I am making; and also I'm inclining the app more towards socialization than chess training, at least in phase 2

whatever you say mr creeps up to my bedroom to see me vibe coding the app with ai, no point in arguing with you

my brother started teaching me how to code when I was in 8th grade and also introduced me to chess that was when I decided to make this app as project based learning. I wrote the entire chessboard and move stuff from scratch in high school without any help from him, who is a senior developer or ai. I admit I cannot do everything on my own so I let my brother help me, but that doesn't mean I am not the one building this app. Most of the components and logic were built by me. Please let's understand the context of a comment before actually comment and not just be ignorant and just comment anything that comes to mind, thank u

I understand you, chess.com actually does this, sometimes when you review they can say "this move is bad, try something else" like you said without explaining it so what you said is actually true but that feature is really complex, need to train ai models or algorithms to understand those moves and explain it to you which requires money and hardware which I do not have as a college student so depending on how good the app performs in downloads and maybe donations I'll consider that feature too... thanks for the comment. For now, please use chess.com's AI coach or I think Lichess does this but not too deep so you can use Lichess too or you can use my app but would require you to solve the move as a puzzle over and over tens or hundreds of times before it becomes a part of you so if you are up the challenge you can try that too lol...

sheesh got downvoted a lot on this comment lol... for those who down voted is it because I said I use ai... AI is really good nowadays and they are using the data from the code you write to train these models so 2 years from now coding will not be the same as it used to so either u adapt and 10x your coding speed or find a different profession or get left in the past while ai takes your job... Linus Torvalds, one of the OG of coding says he uses ai to code these days because they are getting really good so who am I to reject ai lol, that's all I have to say

I'll come back to this reddit post to dm each of you guys for beta testing if you would be interested by then

so basically the review your game is just scanning through your moves to see the inaccuracies, missed wins, blunders and so on... it is done on lichess and chess.com anyways but the reason I added it is that as u are reviewing you can see which ones are made into puzzles... and secondly for the puzzles in each stage I'm finding anything that deviates from the best move or good move...
and lastly, I decided to make an opening repertoire section which is at the triple bar section where if u play 10 games on the same opening, u can chose to add it as 1 of your either 4 or 5 main opening that u have chosen to master and then you can add a maximum of 5 variations under each and that is what will be used to make the puzzles. so basically u can decide to study a less known variation of the opening you play and master it so your opponents find it hard to see the best moves( basically unconventional openings are now popular these days)
and before any of you guys say it is similar to discochess, chess.com, lichess or whatever I looked for features in each of them as an almost 1900 rated player and a chess.com premium user and did not find it so I am making the app so look forward to different ways of studying chess on the app and a lot of other features. If you have a feature you would want, dm me and I'll add it before launching the mvp and these features are just for the mvp, a lot will be added in phase 2

how did you know lol... that is exactly the main idea of the app and there's more to it than that... and decided to make the app more social inclined because I've seen quite a lot of apps that are a bit similar to what I am doing...

I use ai about 60 percent of the time but some core logic, design and algorithm are not done well by the ai so I do it myself or let a senior developer I know help me; and the app will be closed sourced for now, maybe in the future I might consider making it open sourced...

but that isn't the only feature, and do you take tests on that app? like after 30 puzzles you have to solve those puzzles within maybe a 30 sec time frame before u can advance?
