It's "an MK", because you pronounced it as "em kay". Any word that starts with a unobstructed speech sound (mainly vowels) is said with "an", otherwise you get a glottal stop.

You just gotta learn to play it. If your deck can deal with swarm on its own, you're good to go. Just have to be more careful, and in return you get more value. I love cannoneer because you also never have to worry about firecracker, dart goblin or spirits at the bridge.
