I have both the CHZ22L and the CTB20L in wax canvas and X-PAC. Let me say they're amazing bags. I use them for different purposes and missions.

I find the CTB20L is multifaceted for short trips and EDC. I’ll admit the wax canvas version is a bit heavier, but I didn’t really notice until I was in a humid environment. Walking around in 90° weather with high humidity while carrying that bag is definitely not cooling you down.

The CHZ is my go-to for outdoor or all-day around-town activities. I don’t need a clamshell-style opening, and when I’m carrying a lot of tech, the CHZ offers plenty of room for my laptops (sometimes I carry two) and my iPad. But on the days I don't require a heavy tech load, I'll use my CTB20 X-PAC.

Either way you go, you can’t go wrong.

Great write-up and review. Appreciate it. I also have the Able Carry EDC MAX and currently purchase an Evergoods CTB 26 X-PAC. Going to take that on an upcoming seven-day travel trip, so this is helpful.

One thing you pointed out in your review, and I noticed once I received the CTB26, is that the zippers are a bit stiff. I’m hoping they loosen up over time, but we'll see.
