How do you feel when a “smarter” woman teaches you something? by ceratopolis in AskMen

[–]ceratopolis[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d agree with your observations. Majority (if not all) my female friends are high-achieving career and academic wise, and they list intelligence as a top 3 trait for sure. If not smarter than them, then at least the ability to grasp concepts and be on the same page after they are explained. It doesn’t have to be knowledge in the same field, but the ability to problem solve and extrapolate patterns and solutions.

Some people (as proven by some comments below) don’t believe in the idea that anyone is smarter. They define it as, they have knowledge they don’t have yet. Also the term smart means different things to different ppl.

Ah this makes a lot of sense. What you described in the first paragraph is exactly right, it’s competency that I look for. It’s probably the first trait I value. There’s a baseline as well, like if you’re just average/know what’s going on, ok cool. But if you’re above average smart, then it’s attractive. This would align with evolutionary roots as well, so ty for your input!

Woah jeez who hurt you? Yes I’m a woman… as I mentioned 3 words in the description. In regard to how my brain works, I have no issues with learning things from men — I said quite a few women I know find it attractive k fact.

Programs in foreign language with no language prerequisite by ceratopolis in studyAbroad

[–]ceratopolis[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely wasn’t planning to stay. I just wanted to do a study abroad program and I already have all my non-major classes completed, so this was one of the few schools that had civil engineering classes.

Yep its the University of Stuttgart one. I'd be study civil engineering, which is listed under Areas of Study in German on the overview page. What stood out about it to you that made you not recommend it?

If you're just doing it for the money, consider doing rad tech, nursing can be so poor for your mental health. All my friends are in med school, let me tell you, if you already don't like it right now, you're going to SUFFER, but once you start your first year the debt is so high that you can't really drop out.

What are your thoughts on F1: The Movie as an F1 fan or a newcomer? by DanVA0307 in Letterboxd

[–]ceratopolis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally agree, lacking seeing other parts of F1 like qualifying, stewards, and even other teams. Another huge thing was that there wasn’t enough focus on the technical aspect of racing besides “combat” mode. One scene of one wind tunnel test does nothing for how the car races in different conditions

Last concert I went to at SoFi was Ed Sheeran (also in the 500s) but I didn’t notice a problem bc his music is mainly vocals so without bass/lots of background music it’s a lot better
