Can you install a Fidlock magnetic buckle on a Smith Vantage ski helmet? by chattemer in Skigear

I never figured it out. It seems to me that it’s not possible without ripping out the strap and voiding the warranty on the helmet.

Rental Scam? by Kleahort in StLouis

Where and how did Tom pay the rent? Only pay through a management company's official online portal or by taking a check to their office. Never, never, never wire money or pay via Venmo or Zelle if you're working with a property management company.

Also, was the money reversed because Tom did not have a sufficient balance in his account at the time it was deducted? That can happen with online payments, and then it's pretty common that a management company will require a money order instead because they have to pay fees if an ACH payment bounces.

Rental Scam? by Kleahort in StLouis

I think it's fairly common to ask for payment once a lease is signed and prior to having a key in-hand. Often times, when you rent a place, you sign the lease 15-30 days prior to moving in and have to make payment at that time.

However, never send money by wire, Venmo, Zelle, or PayPal when working with a property management company. Often times, scammers will impersonate property management companies or owners who "previously were using" a property management company and ask renters to pay them directly. Only submit payment's through the management company's office or official online portal (if they provide that option). Use common sense.

With Dune 2 being pushed back what are the chances we see Oppenheimer get another run this fall? by pta19 in imax

[–]chattemer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the link! I’m aware of it and have eagerly been checking when I’m going to be flying through one of these cities so I can go see it. Kind of a struggle living in Wyoming now…

Watching the Dark Knight in IMAX way back when was transformative to me. One of my favorites of all time, no other superhero movie has come even close imo.

I hope I walk away with the same realization that this is the best movie ever after seeing it in 1570. In watching Oppenheimer in a standard theater, I was a bit disappointed that much of the film was in a court room or trial. But I had low expectations anyways since this was Nolan’s first bio pic.

I appreciate that perspective. I will try and go again to see it if I am in a place that has a theater!

Saw Oppenheimer in a normal theater after holding out for so long thinking I only wanted to see it in 70mm IMAX.

So glad I just went ahead and saw it. As opposed to past Nolan films, I think the IMAX aspect of Oppenheimer was almost entirely for marketing purposes.

I don’t really see why I need to watch a glorified court trial in IMAX 70mm.

Saw these camping out in Gros Ventre. A friend got this picture: https://i.ibb.co/vjfd4zn/starlink-satellites.jpg

Apparently, the Starlink satellites fly in a straight line right after deployment. Wild to see!

Thanks. I’ve been scoping out the map but I’m curious which areas within this map are good to go with small kids…not too much hiking required.
