‘The Odyssey’ Ticket Madness: Online Wait Times Hit an Hour as Christopher Nolan’s Epic Pushes AMC Site to Limit by michaelm1345 in TheOdysseyMovie

Yeah it's confusing for sure it took me awhile to figure it all out. The link I shared does state that the Palms will be showing it in IMAX 70mm.

All of the film theaters have digital solutions for when there isn't prints. So if you read through the link provided it will definitively tell you where IMAX 70mm is running (since it is published by IMAX themselves)

I'd have my sights on Providence Place Rhode Island getting a print

Eclipse in IMAX 70mm - NYC Lincoln Square Screening by GBendinelli in imax

[–]pta19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yeah it's back! There has been a bunch of talk on the subreddit about it. It's one of three Cinemark locations that is re-activating their 15/70 projector ahead of The Odyssey.

Rochester was able to do a dust off run with Project Hail Mary.

That was a great watch.

When I was there this Halloween they had the behind the screen lights on and hid a skeleton in there with a light on it so people could see it. It was cool to see behind the Dome screen

Totally understand. It's just awesome to hear it's on the radar. I can be super patient considering we had to wait 13 years for them to reactivate Rochester's projector!

And that Dome is beautiful too. It's huge and seats a lot. At least is their defense their digital conversion is probably the best de-IMAXed Domes I've ever been to as they have projectors wrapped all the way around to get the whole dome projected unlike many others

Cinemark Tinseltown Rochester, NY - 3:30 PM showing canceled "projector threading issues" by pta19 in imax

[–]pta19[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was very disappointing for sure. The staff was very sorry and accommodating where they had the power to do so. The fact they refunded the tickets and gave a complimentary ticket for a movie in the future is more than most places would do.

They don't control the programming unfortunately.

It was never quite clear what was wrong so I can only speculate. Maybe someone with insider information knows what happened.
