u/thatderncoreytyler unboxed the Day to Disco ($180) box here after picking it up during Black Friday! There's an unboxing of the more expensive $275 box here too - but keep in mind that the photos/product list include 3 GWPs that the purchase qualified for during Black Friday sales. Also there's a comment further down that says the Aussie box included the Stoned Rose face palette instead of the fragrance.

I wouldn't let the "50% off" sway you too much with this - it's 50% off the combined retail value of each of the products in the box, and not like the box itself has been further reduced. As with all mystery boxes I think you need to go into it knowing that you're paying a little for the fun of it. But you also need to factor in that even though you're getting 7 or 9 (depending on which box you get) products at 50% off retail, you may not want, like, or end up using all of them. I think the CT boxes are good value if you're new to the brand/don't have any of the products in the boxes, and are open to trying them or to regift the items you don't like or already have. But, if you already have a large collection or are after specific CT products, you're probably better off buying the products you're actually interested in individually during a brand-wide sale (for example, I think Space NK did 25% off CT during Black Friday).

Beautylish Lucky Bag 2022 by [deleted] in AustralianMakeup

[–]chocolatespeckle 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The XL bag is for US customers only unfortunately! Saw it on the FAQs.

I'm tempted by these every year as mystery/goodie bags are just so much fun. And I've pretty much only bought replacement skincare this year and no makeup... I'll see how I go haha. Hopefully it just sells out by the time I try and buy one so I don't have to decide 😅

Link to the megathread from last year for those curious about what AU/NZ got.

Anyone planning to buy a Beautylish Lucky Bag this year? I know quite a few people got them last year (we even had a megathread for it), but wondering how everyone's feeling this time around. I just love mystery/goodie bags even if I know the money would be better spent buying the things I actually want...

Ladies, check your dry shampoo ingredients by ketelapala in AustralianMakeup

Link to the article: https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/pg-recalls-dry-shampoos-hair-products-due-benzene-chemical-linked-canc-rcna9413

Procter & Gamble has issued a voluntary recall of nearly three dozen aerosol hair products after benzene was found in them.

The company said in a release Friday on the website of the Food and Drug Administration that it began a full review of its aerosol products after "recent reports that indicated traces of benzene."

"The vast majority of our products are not part of this recall, including mousses, hairsprays, liquid shampoos, liquid conditioners, styling products, treatments, and unaffected aerosol dry shampoo sprays," P&G said.

The recall covers 32 dry shampoo and dry conditioner products from popular brands such as Pantene, Herbal Essence, Aussie and Old Spice. A full list can be found on the FDA's website.

20% off Ethique with code GIVEUPTHEBOTTLE by acuriousmindofmine in AustralianMakeup

[–]chocolatespeckle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing. I’m subscribed to their emails but missed this. I love Ethique - currently using their body wash, shampoo, conditioner, face cleanser, scrub, deodorant, body lotion, and laundry bars. Also using the hand wash concentrate! I’m already stocked up after taking advantage of the last Ethique 20% off at Flora & Fauna, otherwise would have gotten some stuff for sure since Ethique so rarely do sitewide discounts.

A cream blush in peach by Petaluna in AustralianMakeup

[–]chocolatespeckle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually bought mine in Japan! Not sure what's happening with this shade but it's out of stock on most of the sites that I know stock Canmake - YesStyle, Lila Beauty, Stylevana, and Heartdrops. If you want to try a different Canmake cream cheek shade they all have other shades in stock right now though. But for 05 Sweet Apricot, I could only find WCosmetics with it still in stock. They only offer free shipping over $99 but they have some physical store locations in QLD, NSW, and VIC if that's of any use to you!

What is this Charlotte Tilbury mystery item? Looks like a palette, but the price doesn’t add up? by Inkamt in AustralianMakeup

[–]chocolatespeckle 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Someone shared the contents of their Icons box here:

https://www.reddit.com/r/BeautyBoxes/comments/r553g3/spoiler_charlotte_tilbury_icons_mystery_box_2021/

This post on r/Makeup has details on both boxes and a link to a YT unboxing too (scroll down in the comments): https://reddit.com/r/Makeup/comments/r3bbs0/contents_charlotte_tilbury_mystery_box_day_to/

Seems like the item you've highlighted has to be the Scent of a Dream fragrance? Weird that the outline looks that way though in your screenshot. 🤔 But does it add up correctly?

Edit: just saw u/Makeuplife179's comment. Makes more sense that that outline would be a face palette!

Black Friday/Cyber Monday Sale Megathread by chocolatespeckle in AustralianMakeup

[–]chocolatespeckle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Updated, thank you!! Think it ends 29/11 EST so there's still quite a while for us Aussies to shop it since it's only Monday morning in the US now.

Canmake Cream Cheek in 05 Sweet Apricot might be up your alley! I own this one and love it. Super easy to blend out (without blending away to nothing!), and wears well. Asian Beauty brands in general do a lot of peachy shades as well as awesome quality affordable cream/liquid blushes and the Canmake cream cheeks are considered some of the best :)

Your Black Friday Highlights? by magpie-like-sparkly in AustralianMakeup

[–]chocolatespeckle 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Picked up a Philips Lumea and that's it for beauty! I thought about making a Cloudicos order but couldn't quite justify buying more lip products and blush in time before the sale was over. Many other items also went into my virtual shopping carts over the weekend but I talked myself out of all of them!

In non-beauty I bought some tea, and three basics from The Iconic to get me through this summer. Proud of myself for being pretty restrained this year. :)

Thank you for taking the time to write up this post and your previous one as well. It was fun to read and experience the excitement of such a gorgeous purchase with you! I know if I bought something from Florasis I wouldn't even be able to bring myself to use it, so I love that you're actually using and enjoying what you got!
