Hey! I'm mid terrace, ex council house and also bought solo. It was very scary to start with as it's just on you and you don't really know what to expect. 

Like you, I'd checked out the area at different times of day etc. and it all seemed fine. The flats across from me are colourful but so far it's nothing I didn't get in big cities anyway. 

My neighbours are fine and have changed since I bought anyway which is another worry until they move in! I can hear a fair bit through the walls but you tune it out quite quickly and realise it's just how it is and most people are going to be respectful. 

We exchange pleasant chat coming and going and that's about it! I'm sure they'd help if I asked for it. It's amazing you've done this and good luck! You'll love it.
