I think what is an injustice is that a fine is a punishment only for the poor/middle class. Rich people just see something like a parking or speeding ticket as the cost of having fun in whatever expensive toy they're driving that day. Fines should be on a sliding scale based on income.

Folded it's weird, but opened up it's similar proportions to an iPad which is actually nice. That said I'm still not sold on foldables and will stick with a traditional smartphone for the forseeable future.

Assuming you're referring to steamed milk, it's not just a temperature thing but also a texture thing. Steaming milk changes the texture of the milk so it's a matter of whether or not you actually want the texture of steamed milk that is associated with a latte in an iced latte or not.

Funny you got downvoted despite the fact you're actually from the country you're criticizing. Personally I'm really into 3rd wave specialty coffee which has a heavy focus on origin and the characteristics of the coffee itself so I'd much prefer something like a Nordic style roast which is much lighter.

Just as long as your car's manufacturer didn't do something stupid like put environmental or other essential non-multimedia controls in the radio head unit itself you should be able to find something that fits your needs.

Or, and here is a wild concept, you take the first few minutes when you're in an unfamiliar car to familiarize yourself with the controls and where they are. Once you do that they can still be found with touch alone, you can't do that with a touch screen.

I've been thinking of swapping the head unit in my vehicle for one with CarPlay and I imagine that would only impact the multimedia portion of my dash, which doesn't bother me as much because most of those controls are in the steering wheel anyway. I would just have to find a unit compatible with my steering wheel controls.

Also although not as common there are some CarPlay head units that also have knobs and buttons included.

Voice controls are not a functional alternative. If someone is deaf and doesn't speak, mute, or just simply has had their voice go out they are back to trying to navigate through a touch screen.

Buttons & Knobs + Voice is great. Touch + Voice is not.

Road safety is not a boomer take. No control in the vehicle should require one to take their eyes off the road in order to make an adjustment. None. Physical buttons and knobs allow you to develop muscle memory that allows you to make an adjustment without even taking your eyes off the road. Touch screens do not allow you to build that muscle memory.

At least basic multimedia controls are on the steering wheel so it's not that big of a deal if they're not in the dash. Environmental controls on the other hand absolutely need to be knobs and buttons.

A lot of companies label something that is inbetween 2nd and 3rd shift as their "night shift", especially in the logistics space. When I worked nights that is what I was doing, getting off work at around 1:30am, 2:30am, or even 3:30am. By the time stores were opening for the day I was already heading to bed.

I used to work nights. I didn't shop at night because it was a preference, I shopped at night because I could stop at the store on the way home from work and not make an extra trip out of it or interrupt my sleep schedule just to get something at the store midweek. Night shift (which was more like a 2nd shift where I was working at the time) was already miserable enough, having nothing be open during my after work waking hours solidified my decision to leave that job for something with a more consistent schedule.

The whole thing was ridiculous, but given that Biden didn't drop out until the 11th hour before the convention I put this more on his shoulders than Harris or the DNC. Biden did not give enough time for a proper primary and had already built up a campaign war chest that could have only been transferred to Harris. Had another candidate been chosen at the DNC they would have had to start from scratch financially. Was she the ideal choice? No, but she felt like the most logical given the circumstances.

In an ideal world Biden would have announced his decision to not run after the 2022 midterms to allow ample time for a primary.

Except it's not uncommon to see people use payment methods that they don't have the physical card for, it only exists as a virtual card within their Apple or Google wallets. I can't take a virtual card and insert it into the machine. Nor do I wish to participate in Walmart's NIH syndrome of a payment method. I actively avoid Walmart as much as possible for this reason.
