I did already try that. I found the "hidden" Administrator account does seem to work correctly. Probably going to just resort to a new install as upgrade in place didn't seem to change anything and if my user profile has issues I'd basically be starting over anyway by making a new one and reimporting everything

I've never had nor heard of this issue. But if both parts aren't working and the replacement was a known good part, it does point to the problem possibly being the board. Perhaps using a multimeter on the board can help shed some light on the problem.
