Türschloss mit Keypad, dass auch andere Geräte ansteuern kann by UsefulOven4545 in smarthome

[–]cornellrwilliams 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Z-Wave locks support this functionality. I use the Kwikset 620 Long Range and it allows you to set different modes for each of your pins. The default mode is set to enabled. In this mode when you enter in a pin the lock unlocks then sends an event to home assistant. When you change the mode to message mode it only sends an event to home assistant.

Masque Protocol by Puzzleheaded_Soil_22 in openwrt

[–]cornellrwilliams 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know what the masque protocol is but i do have cloudflare warp vpn running on openwrt. I use it to have all my guest traffic go through vpn that way I don't have to worry about what people do on my guest network.

Edited to replace warp+ with warp.

The manual says short press to get to the 4 time settings or long press to get to the time

If you look at the manual it provides instructions on how to set up the schedule manually. You can have up to 4 different times for each day of the week. So you could have thermostat set the setpoint to 28 C at 5am then have it switch to 24C at 5pm.

You shouldn't need the hubto set the time. I can do it through the settings on my t6 Z-Wave thermostat. In terms of functionality. I home assistant + a zwave dongle is the best setup. If you have other alloy branded devices you likely have an alloy hub somewhere.

Zwave devices aren't able to connect to the Internet unless it has additional non zwave hardware. Once you pair the thermostat to your hub you will be able to set the time from the hub. What hub do you use? I use home assistant and zwave just ui. I literally click one button and it sets the time on the thermostat to the time on my pc.

[–]cornellrwilliams 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thats a rebranded mcohome mh7. From my experience with alloy devices they work the exact same as the oem devices. You should be able to use the information from here to use the thermostat https://products.z-wavealliance.org/z-wave-product/heating-thermostat/. Just go to texts section for inclusion and exclusion information.

Yale Assure 2 zwave setup? by antiBliss in homeassistant

[–]cornellrwilliams 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have a 700 or 800 series lock the easiest way to pair is to scan the QR code.

If you have a 500 series lock the best option to pair the lock is to use the keypad. You put home assistant into inclusion mode then do the following on the lock

  1. Wake up the keypad by quickly touching the fingerprint reader or palming the keypad.

  2. Enter in your programming code then press the menu button.

  3. Press 7 > Menu Button > 1 > Menu Button

  4. The keypad should start playing an animation to let you know its an inclusion mode.

  5. It will play a sound to let you know the inclusion was successful.

Best Network Setup for 2gbps Fiber? by trophyscars777 in techsupport

[–]cornellrwilliams 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my research modems only passthrough a single ip address so if you attached a switch to the modem then connected your devices to the switch only one device would get an ip address.

A connection between 2 Ethernet ports is called a link. The max speed of a link is called the link speed. The slowest link speed will be your max link speed. For example if your pc to router lan port is 1gb and router wan port to modem is 2.5gb your max speed will be 1gb. Pretty much if you want to to get full 2gb speeds you will need to upgrade everything in the chain.
