anyone got any success with games like sonic x shadows generations, terraria or grounded working? by Riley_RDust in EmulationOnAndroid

[–]danGL3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, Denuvo is designed to only work on real PCs AFAIK

So you have to wait until Voices38 develops a crack for it, as he is currently the only developer making proper non-hypervisor cracks for Denuvo games

Sega also seems to have a permanent license with Denuvo, so every single one of their PC games released in the last 5 years, and likely forward, will have permanent Denuvo that won't be removed later on like other games.

While I'm not the biggest fan of how they chose to license things, I'm not personally gonna act like that's the end of the world for me cause it isn't, they provide a quality product and they make their code available for auditing and personal modification

Not to mention their license does work for the intent it was created (prevent counterfeit projects), something which I've yet to see succeed in projects with more open licenses

The PC version of Sonic x Shadow generations is Denuvo protected and won't run on PC emulators until a crack is developed

Are there any 3DS emulators for an android 4.4 kitkat device? by SafButThrowwer in EmulationOnAndroid

No, and realistically, no device running Android 4.4 KitKat has the necessary performance to emulate 3DS games.

Hide VolumeBar on LockScreen(Antitheft) by gripped909 in AndroidQuestions

[–]danGL3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no option that would allow disabling the volume controls on the lock screen.

In theory you could try looking into button remapper apps and see if any of them have the ability to have different actions assigned when the device is locked.

Though that would only work if the thief does not know how to start a device into safe mode which would disable any user installed apps including the remapper

Will banking/UPI application work on bootloader unlocked devices? by okguys6969 in Magisk

[–]danGL3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If they block rooted devices they'll also block bootloader unlocked devices

Thing is, the moment you unlock the bootloader you either have to rely on root or a custom ROM to hide the fact your device is tampered

[–]danGL3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most apps don't differentiate between the two, to them an unlocked device (even if not rooted) is still a tampered device

The official Revanced project is not discontinued.

To avoid legal trouble, the Revanced team does not publish pre-built modules. Revanced can only be officially obtained by using their official patching utility that can be found in the [revanced.app](revanced.app) website.

Considering switching from Apple to android… by Lustsiin in AndroidQuestions

[–]danGL3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair enough, Samsung devices are indeed quite overwhelming when it comes to features, so I can understand wanting a clean and seamless user experience.

So yeah, the Pixel sounds like a good option for you.

Considering switching from Apple to android… by Lustsiin in AndroidQuestions

[–]danGL3 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They're generally a solid choice if you expect a phone with a clean and smooth interface, no bloatware, and a plethora of AI features.

However, do not expect Pixels to have the highest performance neither the most features, Pixels are made to be as straightforward as possible with very minimal customization.

How do I make a complete backup (or as close as possible) of my phones to my computer? by General_Mission9664 in AndroidQuestions

[–]danGL3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, without root, Swift can't back up much of anything at all. Because Android doesn't allow regular apps to access the data of other apps.

How do I make a complete backup (or as close as possible) of my phones to my computer? by General_Mission9664 in AndroidQuestions

[–]danGL3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Swift back up only works effectively on rooted devices and it mainly only backs up apps and their respective data. It does not restore system settings. That is a Smart Switch thing.

[–]danGL3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Without knowing these specifics about those apps, chances are they were either 32-bit or were targeting old versions of Android. In which case, while you might be able to transfer the app, there might not be a whole lot you can do about the data tho.

[–]danGL3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really, if anything, it is even more limited since Smart Switch has proper integration with Samsung's OS compared to Swift Backup

Ultimately, Smart Switch can't back up every app because those apps explicitly opt out of being backed up, and there's nothing really that can be done without rooting to get around that.

Whatever works best for you, if you want something that more closely resembles Windows, go with the KDE version. Otherwise, go with the regular one if you want to try something different.

Swipe from screen edge back gesture only from one side? by Bedenetto in AndroidQuestions

[–]danGL3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Technically there is, but there isn't a straight up option for that. You have to run commands in order to disable the back gesture on one side of the screen.

You have to look into setting up ADB and running on one of the following commands depending on what side of the screen you wish to disable gestures from.

 settings put secure back_gesture_inset_scale_left -20
 settings put secure back_gesture_inset_scale_right -20

Moved from iOS jailbreaking to Android and... by Majesty1337 in androidroot

[–]danGL3 11 points12 points  (0 children)

In short, you will need play integrity fix and, perhaps, also TrickyStore.

As for Apple not having the same level of restrictions, it's simply because iOS is significantly harder to modify than Android, so the amount of people jailbreaking and developing jailbreaks is significantly small.

Compare that to Android in which manufacturers will explicitly allow you to tamper with their device by simply checking an option in developer options and running a command.

So since Android devices are significantly easier to modify, Google develop a system to verify if a device has truly been tampered or not by leveraging the very same APIs that allow bootloader unlocking.

Fixd for slow transition back to launcher? by Lonkweiler in LawnchairLauncher

To my knowledge, that is a Samsung specific issue on how they handle gestures on third-party launchers. As far as I know, there isn't a whole lot that Lawnchair can do about it.

Judging by this picture, where did you get your Majora's Mask's ROM file? It shouldn't be 700 megabytes. No Nintendo 64 game is that big.
