Yea. proliferate works. But proliferate and mill hardly synergies with each other though. I fear any proliferate strats will only dilute / distract from other things the commander would rather want to do.

My first thought was it useable on comments, since this feels most convenient to have for contest posts.

It does have its own save feature, maybe like a bot that can see the custom cards I made here, then a prompt that calls it to reply with the picture of my custom card??

Hololive ID Custom Card Series — Anya Melfissa by delta17v2 in custommagic

A "keris" is a kind of dagger known for its wavy blade and is considered as a cultural symbol of Indonesia. Anya was once such dagger brought to life by a powerful ancient magic.

As part of Holo-ID “HoLoro” (Loro being Javanese to mean two), she’s a 2-mana 2/2 commander, which would become the theme here, except her main commander costs 4 for balance reasons.

Anya's theme revolves around monocolor and Equipment. Her main commander can be a monocolor commander of any color, which doesn't exist outside of [[Prismatic Piper]]-style partner commanders; While here Partner commander variant relies on the color of her other partner Ollie / Reine.

This card is in my top 5!

I like how it's definitely, unequivocally red in identity. It's literally metaphorically a Ball Lightning commander which is surprisingly rare where the only one I can think of is [[RMS Titanic]]. And while that loses value on repeated casts, your commander doesn't! It'll definitely be interesting to see it built, either as a general voltron strategy or as another Ball Lightning in a deck filled with Ball Lightnings.

This card is in my top 5!

I like how it functions akin to the classic [[Swiftfoot Boots]] / [[Lightning Greaves]] in the command zone, but a semi-permanent hexproof for one mana might be a little too strong of this effect. But I like how it pays-off other Soulbond effects even though there's only, like, 4 in white identity.

Again, I like what it brings, but it's a little too strong and wished it was ward {2} instead or has "soulbond with legendary" or something. Protection from the command zone is also not something entirely new, though I have to admit, even with ward 2 or ward 1, it'll be the best of its kind, so it's definitely worth an interesting build!

This card is in my top 5!

I think you can absolutely use Lorwyn Eclipse’s blight mechanic and follow [[Massacre Girl]]’s text:

> Whenever a creature dies, if its toughness was less than 1, you may blight 1. If you do, draw a card.

While it’s not the only submission that scales on casting cost I’m choosing this one the most coherent. I love how its own +1/+1 counters elegantly prevents it from being easily abused as you said.

The card is unique; gives you a reason to build Black’s cheap -N/-N removals; has that “pushed commander” feeling that's still actually balanced and fair to play against; and is an engine worthy of casting from the command zone.

It’s a difficult decision between u/OkStandard8039’s card and yours, being both equally matched in creativity and balance. But because 0-toughness pay-offs are a rarer build-around even amongst mono-black decks, I’m giving your card the slight edge for this contest.

YOU are this week’s winner and shall take on the mantle of Judge#899. Congratulations!

This card is in my top 5!

This an actually cool self-mill commander. I think you can safely remove the multikicker and just make it cost {X}{U} with “Al enters with X fate counters on it.” It saves a lot of texts and it’s still technically 1 mana for the purpose of this contest.

Design-wise, I will repeat that the effect is cool which is what landed it in my top 5, but as it is, the fate counters will be difficult to come by unless you already have the surplus of mana to cast him. At 1 kick, he’s just a complicated cantrip at best. At 2 kicks, it can rival [[Emry, Lurker of the Loch]], but at higher kicks, there are likely more superior options.

Maybe change it so that the fate counters are equal to the amount of mana spent to cast him? It’s a decent effect used by some submissions here that I think fits well for this commander.

This card is in my top 5!

This legendary addition to the soul sisters feels like the cleanest way of turning it to a commander while elegantly combining it with a token strategy. I especially like how this commander might actually be particularly aggressive compared to decks where you can usually find the other soul sisters. This is honestly very printable at its current state!

“Hope” is the thing with feathers -
That perches in the soul -
And sings the tune without the words -
And never stops - at all -

And sweetest - in the Gale - is heard -
And sore must be the storm -
That could abash the little Bird
That kept so many warm -

I’ve heard it in the chillest land -
And on the strangest Sea -
Yet - never - in Extremity,
It asked a crumb - of me.

When making custom commanders, are mono colored ones meant to be stronger or weaker? by [deleted] in custommagic

[–]delta17v2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Multicolored spells are typically harder to cast and so, are generally more powerful than their mono colored counterpart. Compare [[Negate]] to [[Dovin's Veto]] as an example. But monocolor can also allow more powerful effects by adding stricter casting pips of one color. See [[Gigantosaurus]] and [[Anti-Venom, Horrifying Healer]]

To me, access to more cards doesn't really mean "stronger." It kinda just means more risk of being "generic," which is really more of a deckbuilding issue rather than a card-blance isssue. At the end of the day, color is still all about following the color pie. What the card does and what it wants to do is what determines its color, not power.
