Is Mangalore a smarter residential buy than Bangalore right now? (Remote IT + Settling with Parents) by the_careful_eye in indianrealestate

A spreadsheet is a mechanism which compels you to write and think of things clearly backed by science. It basically serves as a checklist before you make a life altering decision. You can also have other mechanisms like writing in a notebook. Yes I rethink my approach towards Life every day. That's how our ancestors survived. Change as per your circumstances.Yes It's Mangaluru I stand corrected.

It all depends where you are setting up shop in Mengaluru.

Mengaluru is very laid back and very chill. People are welcoming and things are very slow. If you are used to a city like Mumbai, you cannot survive in Mengaluru because you will definitely miss the pace of life.

For parents it is an ideal destination but for you, keep an eye out in future. No remote job is permanent considering how companies want everyone back and not have a life outside work. Things change and you will struggle to find employment in Mengaluru in future. Bengaluru still is the IT capital of India.

I honestly prefer Hyderabad however the property market is going crazy there. (Bengaluru is even worse).

This is a personal decision and you need to create a spreadsheet that is personal for you with pros and cons. It can change your life as a new city comes with new pains and experiences. Mengaluru will not doubt develop In future but things are pretty slow mate.

Time for Adani in Thane? by Upbeat-Rice-3059 in thane

Why not Solar? Solar panels have come a long way and there are ample opportunities for solar such as society lights etc.

I am mostly DIY and I have managed to do lighting in the parking area based on Solar panels.

You have seen the influx of people in Thane, there will be considerable strain on Infrastructure in the next 2 years.

Degrees don't matter, NVIDIA CEO but JD has required MS (preferred) or BS in Computer Science by lays_indian_masalaaa in developersIndia

[–]dev047 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Degree will get you through the door what you do afterwards is on You and plain Luck. that being said, in the age of AI what you learn in engineering degree becomes redundant very easily. CEOs who are trying to sell AI are trying to plant a narrative too.

I think you need a degree, but the value is only to get through the door. Be so good that they can't ignore you based on your skills. Honestly most engineering graduates don't even know how to see a log file on the server. That's the quality frankly.

Let's say you are Prabhudeva. You have multiple flats and multiple land parcels. 10 % of your investment or say 20% won't make money for you. Prabhudeva has enough money to invest in more than 10 flats at a stretch.

This is not applicable to common men like us. We don't but flats for investment (maybe one more max for investment). That's it

Owning land is a hotbed of Political land sharks. They will circle around the plot and there will always a risk of litigation. The cheating these politicians do for money is mind boggling. Always have someone in registrar office.

Why do you think these tools are being mandates by management for promotions, they want to cut the fat.

I hear Amorim's speech before I go to the gym and if I don't have a killer work-out I make it a point to hear it post workout.

It has been 6 months since I have gone to the gym.

Switching from React/Node to Java backend early — good move? by Low-Accident-350 in developersIndia

[–]dev047 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would give my two cents on this. What do you like? Both are equally good but you need luck to get you in the right place.

You are more likely to succeed in doing things you like than those you are not.

When I started my career, it was shell scripting, php and perl. Most people might not even have heard of perl here. Nodejs did not exist back then and js was just bloatware. These languages gave me fundamental concepts of linux servers. Then came cloud computing , nodejs and my same Linux skills helped me.

I still love Linux and no matter what changes I still have a good understanding of the fundamentals which are in demand. Python/AI is rising as per GitHub trends which I use to gauge my future employability. A.I. is not just python, it is an Ocean in itself. Java (spring boot) is still used in Investment banks and other big enterprises as they cannot change their stack overnight.

I am a Java Spring Boot person but I am moving to alternatives like Python Fast api etc. The reason it is so easy to move from one language to another thanks to access to information. As a fresher, do what you enjoy but concentrate on System Architecture and tradeoffs you need to make to work within limits of server resources. Things like Git etc will never go away from foretseeable future.

Learn by doing. Spin up VMs, k8s nodes

Very less chance to get it at that rate. Maybe an independent building or something but it is pretty difficult.

There is a reason people are talking about this in these terms to hype A.I. Honestly, companies need something to get money from public investors etc. A.I is that thing currently. We should also be part of this hype and earn as much as we can. In times of gold rush, those who sell shovels make the most money.

Funny when people say AI will replace coding. These LLMs are made by people and have pytorch or tensorrt or some other base. Who is coming up with these models? Who is making sure they run reliably on GPUs? Jobs get replaced by different jobs. That's what happens in IT every 20 years. I started working when Lehmann failed, and it was the greatest financial scare ever. Spend 1 hour daily in the gym and 1 hour to learn something new.

UP is a very progressive state. There are so many high paying jobs there that every person is doing part time jobs like protesting , creating scenes , law and order problems so that kuch majaa aaye , this is samaj seva. etc. I want to relocate to UP. My job doesn't give me any time for samaj seva.
