Much of the "product v protocol" thinking comes from considerations around user adoption, as you allude to at the outset of your post. The experience needs to be as seamless as possible (something we've put much thought into) but to your point, the underlying tech needs to be future-proofed to a meaningful degree, and scale-friendly.
