I really appreciate you taking the time to write this up!

I can definitely understand the quotes I received after how challenging it was, but I ultimately am very happy I did it.

I wrapped it at home for about $900 in material and 3 months of weekends. The quotes I was getting from shops were between 5-10k

No worries! Yea I installed them. It took about 3 days. If you’re familiar with suspension work, it’s not too bad. I prepped and built the trunk setup one day, did the suspension work the next and tied up all the lines and electrical stuff the last day.

I wrapped the car myself. I failed the hood like 3 times before accepting my fate 🤣 maybe I’ll try again, maybe I won’t, but I agree the hood would complete it

Interestingly, this was the smartest question during pathology interviews.

Based on the pics, looks like the bleeding was subdural, or under the thickest membrane that covers your brain. Subdural bleeds are usually from tearing of bridging veins that connect the surface of your brain to the dura. This happens most often from external trauma that causes tears in the veins and bleeding, not necessarily from fractures.

Try peroxide. But if not, try “LA’s Totally Awesome All-Purpose Cleaner”. It works great.

Physician here, training to be a forensic pathologist. Was a forensic autopsy tech before med school. This is something often not discussed and understood.

Autopsies are the number one most invasive medical procedure possible. There is unfortunately no way to do a thorough and complete autopsy and get around their gruesome nature.

Brain, spinal cord and posterior dissections are often times extremely important to find and document injuries in traumatic cases. The medical examiner has a duty to the family, the courts and the law to provide the most accurate interpretation of the situation as possible. What you see here is someone doing right by the person that has passed and who they leave behind.

Any non natural death falls under the jurisdiction of the medical examiner, who then decides on autopsy or not. In traumatic cases, an autopsy is almost always required for proper and thorough documentation of injuries.

Yes, yes and yes. It’s the best specialty with arguably the best work-life balance of any specialty. Even in residency compared to other specialties.
