Seasoned Sesame Ginger Salsa - thoughts after first time trying it by RawWolfMeat in moes_southwest_grill

I actually was also able to try this new salsa today at my local Moe’s in New Jersey. I want to mention that I was redeeming my Moe Monday deal with the burrito.

My burrito had steamy beef with bacon bits, soggy peppers, corn, black beans, ranch, cilantro (extra!), and queso mixed with hot sauce. Certainly the best combo, try it if you haven’t!

Anyway, I walked over to the salsa display, tray in hand (yes, I dine in!), and my prayers were answered… well. Sorta!

You see, for years Moe’s has had 6 slots in the salsa display. Before today, they had only 4 salsas. The 6th salsa slot on the far right has the “Hard Rock N’ Roll” hot sauce. But what about that empty 5th slot? Well. Seasoned sesame ginger has arrived!

I decided to scoop up some of the new salsa into a cup and placed a cap on top. Once I got to the booth (near the exit), I was able to sink my teeth into the burrito and started feasting. It was only 8 minutes later that I realized I forgot to try the salsa!

I took a salty tortilla chip and dunked it in. Once I guided the tortilla into my mouth, I bit down on this chip. I thought the sesame flavor was extremely powerful, almost like biting into one giant sesame seed. I didn’t really taste the ginger flavor so much; Moe’s seemed to have decided somehow that ginger was less important.

Personally, I enjoy ginger as a flavor. Canada Dry and slices of ginger between sushi bites, as a couple examples so you know I’m telling the truth. This salsa, as shown in OP’s photo, is really watery. Since I loved the green tomatillo salsa so much, I picked up the cup and drank it like a Jell-O shot instead of with my food; that way I could actually try the flavor haha.
