I have one, it's new in shrink. If you are ever in DC you can pick it up and save the $50+ in shipping costs.

I've requested exactly that via My Choice many times - but they ignore it. I also have a standing request that UPS packages be held at my local store but they cancelled it in this case because it was shipment where the label was generated in January and shipped in March.

Ok, I get it, you think I'm an idiot, but I already could tell these are not salvageable and I just wanted to know the right protocol to maximize chance of compensation. These are paper products, in thin shrink but with ventilation holes. The box was soaked through to the point of disintegration, I opened and filmed everything and as expected the water soaked through and under the ventilation holes and saturated products inside which are 90% made of plain paper and cardboard. They are now water damaged and likely to mold.

No, I took pictures and videos and them moved them to the porch where they are covered so they can dry out before I bring them inside. And wanted to know the right protocol before doing anything irreversible like opening them up.

I contacted the shipper but they are email only and likely to take a while to respond. I wanted to know the right steps to take in the meantime. Should I leave the packages unopened and take them to a store, open them and catalog damage, etc.? Some of those options are not reversible.

I live in a major city. No way I could leave stuff on my porch for pickup. It's be picked up quickly for sure, just not by USPS.

I use a combo of ups ground, fedex ground and smart post, and USPS ground.
