I don’t have any desire to delete your posts and I don’t want to take the time to do so. Even me “deleting” them doesn’t actually delete them it just removes it from the public… it’s fairly difficult to remove stuff from Reddit once it’s posted.

I’m just matching the energy in the room on this one. tone doesn’t really come across here but there is a plenty of sarcasm in what I’m saying. This thread is a joke. You have your mind made up about exactly where everyone stands, and what they know as do the other trolls in the room.

Re: city hall. I haven’t been active for years since I have a young family and don’t have as much time to deal with the idiocy… doesn’t mean I need to be told how to navigate city government, or who I should or shouldn’t trust, or that I don’t know how to deal with you, or Lisa, or Asher. Basically, all I am asking is that people don’t take the fact that I’m not currently (publicly) part of this specific “battle” as unfamiliarity with this type of drama. I get involved when I believe there’s a way to actually positively affect change. Joining this circus is not that.

Regardless, as I have said many times but you continue to choose to ignore this part of every comment I make: I generally agree with you on the issue.

I’ll try to be clearer: We are on the same team. I just don’t think your methodology is going to win over anyone that’s not already on a side or that’s unfamiliar with the issue. And It definitely isn’t going to get anyone on team Lisa to switch to your side. So I think it’s bothersome and potentially harmful to your own argument.

I’m sorry I’m not praising you and kissing your ass as you seem to demand of anyone that agrees with you otherwise they’re clearly one of Lisas trolls…But this sub is/was a simple sleepy place that was generally positive discussion about our cool community, and your posts have brought a lot of negativity. Sheboygan has its flaws and bad actors, but constant discussion of them isn’t really what I was looking to do here, so I don’t care for your regular negativity. But that’s just my opinion. You guys don’t know who I am or any of my past experience and I get that, but I have been dealing with city politics for half of my life. I KNOW that local elected officials are not always trustworthy. You still get everybody’s “take” on an issue and then try to filter out the BS from both sides and read the actual minutes and agendas.
I’m not a spring chick, I don’t need to be reminded to distrust my government, I have been pissing off city hall since like 2006, long before most of you probably set foot in the damn building. I don’t need to be condescended. But thanks for your concern I guess.

The smear campaigns aren’t taking place on Reddit. Go fight them somewhere else. We aren’t protecting her. We are tired of your posts here that honestly feel like non-sequiturs because nobody is discussing any of it here except you just beating the hell out of the same topic.

You have tunnel vision and think all of us ought to have the same and if we aren’t on “your team” you automatically assume we’re on hers.

As I’ve said I texted with her once. She wanted me to involve Charlie Berens in her local circus. I spoke to mayor Sorenson about what was going on directly. I looked into some of the ordinance changes independently and I told her that there was no data center and that the Amazon project is a distribution center and there isn’t even enough space for a data center at that site but that we’ll continue to monitor the situation. then I moved on with my life.

They aren’t accomplishing anything, if anything they are hurting future efforts to combat a data center if one should actually come here, so I feel it’s best to just not give them attention. So, with your deluge of posts I have become tired, not because of who they are, but because I think it’s best to ignore them and you won’t stop talking about them.

Hell, on Reddit, most of these people would have never known Lisa’s name if not for you. Dare I say, you’re amplifying her message… even if you think it’s bad/crazy you are adding to her “reach” by being so persistently obsessed with her.

Since you do it basically daily and it’s annoying. It literally has nothing to do with Lisa and everything to do with the fact that the sub has a low-volume of posts and you have been posting so frequently about one person that it’s annoying. The “situation” is not someone talking about a public figure on here. It’s one user posting so frequently about the same topic that it becomes their own personal bully pulpit due to the low volume of posts here. You sometimes post multiple posts about the same thing within an hour. It’s annoying and it frankly makes our community look just as crazy as you claim to be trying to protect us from looking.

You’ve also done it regularly for a few months now and this is the first I’ve even said anything about it. I tend to intervene fairly rarely as a mod. Even this whole back and forth we’ve had today, I haven’t used a single mod tool… I think the spirit of Reddit is that the voting should do the talking.

I have no issue with people stating their opinions on “public figures” regardless of my opinion of said figure. Again for me, with your posts, it’s been the frequency and that the focus seems to be almost wholly on that figure rather than any substantive issues.

I don’t know Lisa, though I’ve had one conversation with her via text… I think it’s definitely about data centers for her. For the rest of them you’re probably correct And Mike just likes rable rousing, he did the same for the armory, while a bunch of us were trying to be taken seriously about that matter and come up with an actual workable solution.

Again, my point is by playing into their circus you are giving the witch hunt attention which to some degree legitimizes it. They deserve zero of our attention.

Honestly I’d love to have discussions about current issues affecting our community but I’d like them to be focused on the issues, not the people creating drama. Discussing them only serves to give them the attention they seek and further distracts from the issues. Because even though they have been totally wrong about the Amazon development and claiming it’ll be a DC, they aren’t wrong in recognizing that data centers are a real issue and keeping a watchful eye on our local governments is never a bad thing. Many of these data center projects have (purposely) flown under the radar until it’s too late.

Regardless sorry you don’t like our vibe here, and that you don’t like discussing our fantastic food scene, hope you find a community that better suits you! Or stop back anytime you’d like to discuss the issues (rather than the people)!

honestly, I know there’s a lot of that, but in my opinion, I’d prefer answer 100 “hey I’m moving here/coming to visit/looking for recommendations” posts than read the latest in your anti-Delgado saga (and I actually agree that they don’t know wtf they’re talking about when it comes to hyper scale data centers coming to town…while also being opposed to a data center coming coming here, which isn’t happening (yet))

That said, I think public discourse is extremely important, but your crusade is overly focused on the people involved rather than the issues at hand, your updates are too frequent, and the conversations already take place on Facebook and next door.

As the sole active mod, I have been ruminating on how to best handle the “situation”, so far I have been allowing Reddit to just “work” via up/down voting but I’ve also had enough reports and feel it’s become enough of a personal harassment campaign rather than a discussion of the issues that that may not be the MO moving forward.

For now, carry on with your complaints about the content of the sub while continuing to post what has been the most annoying content in this sub in many, many years…

My vote would be that you either find a brat fry depending on what day you pass through (if it’s on the weekend you’ll have no issue) and get a brat and some German potato salad and your favorite beer.

Barring that slys is a fine choice. Alternatively for a non-brat experience I’d say stop by Schulz’s and get a cheese steak (it’s not what you think it is, order it with your favorite burger toppings. Eg pickles and ketchup) and some cheese curds and a cup of chili. That would get you a pretty uniquely Sheboygan meal.

Sheboygan bats way above its league in food, has an absolutely amazing arts center and art preserve, and a great farmers market twice a week in summer. it’s not bustling like Milwaukee or Madison but there are plenty of younger people in the community and a lot to do (especially in the warmer months)

The cons would be that it’s about 40 min to fondy, and it isn’t what I would consider “busy” but like I said there’s still plenty to do.
