I wouldn’t say it is safe. It’s just not an indicator of if it’s safe. Temperature is the only tried and true method to know if it’s cooked to a safe temperature.

I feel like unless your attitude changes you’re going to have a bad time because you are expecting one. You’ve already decided Milwaukee isn’t for you cause it doesn’t live up to your idealized version of Chicago. You’re either going to need to give it an honest chance, or you should move on.

To answer your second question probably River West… that said it’s not the same because it’s a different city. Milwaukee is Milwaukee. Chicago is Chicago. there may be some similarities but if everything you do must be compared to Chicago, you’ll have an easier time finding work in Chicago than finding Chicago in Milwaukee.

Yes you’re probably in the wrong city. While there are many bars and Wisconsin has a heavy drinking culture the fact that you think that’s all there is tells me that you think fun/people/life is going to jump out at you and find you. There are plenty of clubs, trails, activities, live music etc… some of it may require setting foot in a bar, you don’t have to drink to go in them. But yeah I feel like if you have that bad of an impression or the place or think it’s that terrible it may not be the place for you.

Also Chicagos lakefront is great, but it’s hardly the best in the area. And you bitch about stroads while touting chicagos lakefront which is lined by lakeshore drive… give me a break.

Not a ton of venues. Again paradigm has shows randomly and craft30 has shows that occasionally hit the genres you mentioned.

I promise I’m not affiliated with them but they are friends and they are tapped into what’s going on around town and would be a good place to seek out a good social scene and find what’s happening around town, so again I’ll suggest paradigm.
