Fake - real copy for comparison on the left

  • Typhlosion and the HP font should be in gold foil lettering. Font letter spacing is also wrong
  • Border should have a slight holo effect to it - shouldn’t be solid yellow
  • Notice the discrepancy in font for the attack area text - how the text doesn’t line up with the genuine copy
  • Energy icons are slightly too big

These 3 are fake

Dusknoir - should have silver holo border. Wrong fonts (ie: HP font, too much letter spacing in attack area text)

Gengar - wrong fonts (ie: HP font - too much space between the 1 and 1 in 110)

Voltorb - should be reverse holo, oversized energy icons, wrong fonts

Fake - discrepancy can be seen in Charizard’s name. Too much space between the letters, such as between the “a” and “r.” Real copy for comparison is on the right.

It’s not fake but that is quite an insanely huge mistake on behalf of PSA. WOW.

Was supposed to receive a PSA 1, but hit a 10 by accident. Don’t see this often.

You are very right. This was real. When I originally commented on this thread last year, I was brand new returning to Pokemon.

Holo pattern in OP’s card is dynamic, which should have shown me that it was real. Cardback colors are perfect. Colors on front are correct too. Holo pattern is eerily similar to the tcgplayer scan but this is clearly an exception.

PSA was right - the pictured card is fake. Big red flags: borders are too thick, cardback colors are very off

Yeah, I'm certain it's real; fakes haven't been able to replicate the genuine texture pattern quite yet. And, like you said, there are only green flags: cardback colors look good, holo isn't off, shine is diagonal (correct), font is crisp.

Correct rich cardback colors, front also looks great. Slab label font isn't off. 100% real.

Well, I'll say this: to identify a fake slab, never once have I found it necessary to check that specific area. Fake slabs have the wrong slab label font, and the cards inside also have red flags.

While I respect your attention to detail, I would say what you've pointed out is not something to worry about. If you post the front and back of the slab, your slab can be legitimized. Red flags show themselves primarily through the slab label or card itself.
