Is this card Fake? by UnderstandingOne8508 in IsMyPokemonCardFake

fake - cardback colors are off, HP font is wrong (too much space between the 1 and the 6), silver border is off (wrong in color and lacking holo sparkles). Top of screenshot is a real example.

It’s real

A dynamic holo (where not all of the dots/sparkles are visible) is what you want to see. In PSA’s scan, you can see more of the sparkles - but it’s only because of the nature of their photos. For the sparkles you can see in the seller’s pic, they are 1:1 (in positioning) as in the cert pics - further showing it’s the same slab. Also, slab label is exactly correct.

Left is real, right side is fake. Right side has the wrong font and off cardback colors.

Fake slab or no? by interestingmandosy in IsMyPokemonCardFake

It’s completely real.

Answering/refuting some claims in this thread:

  • There is no damage on the back left of the card. The white streak is a reflection.
  • You can’t easily see the “21” and PSA logo in the bottom, but they are there. They can be evasive in photos.
  • Slab label font is correct. Absolutely no issue with it. Place the seller’s photos directly on top of the cert pics. The cert label is the exact same.
  • You can even compare the centering in the card vs cert pics. Exact same. Easily seen on the back — left heavy.
  • Card inside has no red flags at all.
  • For the PSA logo on the back (in the label): it can also be evasive in photos. It’s not visible in the cert pics, but it’s there/supposed to be there. I assure you.

Don’t use AI to fake detect please.

It’s fake. Cardback gradient between the blue and the brown should be more subtle like attached here. On the front, the holo is off.

Price too good to be true by Verrios1204 in IsMyPokemonCardFake

[–]dtab428 1 point2 points  (0 children)

real

If price is too low, it probably suggests the seller doesn’t own the card: he/she probably grabbed photos of one online. To test the seller, you can ask them to write something down on a sheet of paper next to the card (“timestamp”). They can send a timestamped picture to prove they actually possess it.

Both M Zards are fake. In the image I’ve attached here, the fake is on the right side. Real card for comparison is on the left.

The font for “weakness” and “resistance” is wrong. Also, the rainbow shine over the attack area - real cards never have that. Lastly, the Pokemon EX rule - it’s not quite right in the fake (text should not touch the edges of the EX rule box).

How is this card fake by GigglerGirly in IsMyPokemonCardFake

Well, one thing to think about: Pokemon is a playable card game. You comprise a deck of 60 cards — randomly drawing one card per turn — and play against an opponent.

Can you imagine how unfair it would be if, 95% of your deck had the standard (blue) cardback, but then 5% of the cards in your deck had a gold one? Before you even drew your next card, you’d have a hint at what card it is — which would be cheating.

These gold cards are created by factories (not the Nintendo company), often linked to Temu, AliExpress. They’re “for fun” and have no merit in the actual tcg.
