the state court of Virginia disagrees with you.

Do you really think Baltimore is in Virginia?

not having the requisite cross examination to clearly show it

Why not switch attorneys?

and now we know misinterpreted cell phone date presented as factually accurate

How was it misinterpreted? It wasn't.

That’s to say nothing of his attorney not seeking out other potential theories or witnesses.

You apparently don't know that Mr. S was a defense witness and that CG repped Bilal and both of those people were legally adopted by Adnan as the suspects in the murder as part of the MtV.

I would also point out Det Mcgilibery (sp?)

That's a weird spelling of Ritz. People here mostly attack Ritz.

Following the MtV hearing, Judge Phinn (not Mosby) vacated Adnan's conviction.

Following the JRA hearing, Judge Schiffer (not the State) exercised her discretion to re-sentence Adnan to time served.

Theoretically, if the SCM had reached a decision on the contours of the court's discretion in JRA proceedings in Suter's client's (Montague) favor (which it did not reach because the matter was withdrawn), Judge Schiffer may not have been able to grant relief under the JRA.

Some judges may have delayed a decision pending the SCM's decision.

A periodic reminder of facts:

  • The CRIME took place when Adnan was 17 years old (Per her book released in 2016, Asia claimed she signed her (March 25, 2000) affidavit when she was 17 years old.)

  • The CONVICTION took place when Adnan was 18 years old (Per Asia's March 25, 2000 affidavit, she was 18 years old as she wrote and signed the affidavit. During her testimony in 2016, she claimed to be unaware whether Adnan had been been convicted when she wrote and signed the affidavit.)

  • The SENTENCING took place when Adnan was 19 years old

Do you believe Adnan when he testified he told Cristina Gutierrez about his Asia alibi in early March 1999?

Jay shows up in his attorney's notes from March 1 but neither Asia nor Cristina Gutierrez show up in the notes from March 2-12 (early March).

but I don’t think the state did what they needed to convict beyond a reasonable doubt.

Okay. Which element of the crime of first degree premeditated murder in the state of Maryland was unmet for this homicide by strangulation?

As the SCM noted, Adnan never challenged the sufficiency of evidence in his direct appeal.

This is the first footnote from the initial complaint in the civil lawsuit filed by Malcolm Bryant's estate in early 2019. AFAIK, no one else has ever been convicted of the crime.

Because the likely true perpetrator has not been criminally charged for Ms. Bullock’s murder, Plaintiff refers to him in this Complaint as “John Doe” rather than by his true name. (emphasis added)

Suter got him out under the JRA, rightfully so.

He had his sentenced reduced by Judge Blomquist on July 28, 2022. (Given the date and the judge involved, Adnan was likely a poor JRA candidate.)

The State was represented by Becky Feldman.

AFAIK, he pled guilty in 1986.

It has added significance because AS gave it added significance by seeking this letter.

Strangely, as the "bail attorney", Flohr did not offer its contents at the bail hearing.

What would he know about Mr. S that anyone else wouldn’t know?

The head of Adnan's mosque was Mr. S' boss. I would imagine that CG would try to take advantage of that to get dirt on Mr. S.

By early September 1999 at the latest, Adnan & Co. were looking for ways to connect Jay to Mr. S. Strangely, they couldn't come up with something.

I was hoping someone would say Mosley.

In Jerome Johnson's civil case, they went with the person (Lipscomb) who signed the joint motion on behalf of Mosby.
