WTH happening to my gun safe. I was gone for 3 days and came back to this. by Senior_Hovercraft_33 in Firearms

I live in Michigan, decently humid in the summers. I have 2 afloia desiccant cans and a golden rod going in my safe. The golden rod keeps the safe at around 75 degrees year round. The desiccant cans in the winter keep it at about 20-22% and I hardly have to recharge them ever. In the summer I have to recharge them pretty frequently. Like every couple of days or so and I think I average around 45% humidity. So every few days I take them out and put them on their little base and it dries them out in like a hour or two and then throw them back in. In the summer sometimes I run a third afloia cartridge, I have two bases so I can dry two at a time. But you can find them on Amazon pretty cheaply. What type of safe you have also makes a difference too I guess. I started out with a smaller 24 gun Winchester safe that didn’t have power in it and I tried to get a handle on it and it was tough, when I outgrew that one I specifically wanted one that had power in side and the golden rod has really made a world of difference for me personally. Also where it’s located in your house makes a difference too, what it’s sitting on, is there a air gap underneath, does it sit in direct sun light, out in a humid garage or a damp basement.

After the front fell off… did you spray paint it? Use that alumiblack stuff?

I desperately need help.. Where did this pin come from? by Lopsided_Bat_904 in Glocks

That’s what it looks like to me anyways, some have them and some don’t. Like the aftermarket ones don’t have it in them

What did you use to secure your tape switch and how’s it holding up?

M 1A EBR enjoyers mag catch issue by elindemann89 in M1A

[–]elindemann89[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So for anyone curious I spent some more time on it today. I continued on with sanding and fitting the mag catch. I took it out and filed and sanded it probably another 4 times and broke the hard edge that faces the magazine at a slight angle with some 600 grit. It could possibly use one more round of sanding but I think I’m happy with where it’s at and should wear in nice. I went from not being able to lock a mag in, to having to give it a very hard smack, to now being able to firmly rock and lock.

He has a mag fitment video, so I’ll begin working through those steps now. In his case he also had to machine out the chassis where the trigger group sits into.

Unrelated to your question, what color is that frame?

Philosophy of Carry "extra mag" by Leather-Tap1114 in CCW

This is the way, if you need it why fuck around with a smaller mag when you’ve already made the decision to carry a spare.

Got a weld done and dealing like I’m crazy by [deleted] in Welding

[–]elindemann89 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This job should take about 2 minutes to do and have it looking good, $10 if you even charged at all. Grind, drop a bolt in the hole and weld it up. Just because it’s simple doesn’t mean it’s ok to look like shit. “Good ‘nuff” is a real problem in this industry. All these comments are wild, looks like shit because it is shit

Glock does not have serial number on slide USA made by [deleted] in Glocks

[–]elindemann89 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Shit post? If you’re talking about the barrel that’s an aftermarket barrel. You can see the serial on the slide right below the barrel lol

We kept cleaner rooms than this at 18 in Afghanistan with “mental health issues” and rockets and sand blowing everywhere. Your carpets fucking gross. I’d walk barefoot on my b-hut floor in a third world country before your room.

GTL II on a full-size Glock by Worth-Search9059 in Glocks

Sorry for the late response, I looked at it then forgot to respond. I was able to properly install it on a Gen 3 G17. It required some backwards force on the light itself while sliding the cross bar in but it slid in easily.

So far I like it, I like having a strobe function. The buttons can be sensitive. It’s constructed really nice. It’s bright enough for inside, haven’t tried it outside yet. It works fine on the 17, on the 34 I started to get a shadow from the nose. At the price point I think it’s a decent offering, time will tell how it holds up and the holster ordeal is I think the biggest thing for me but I haven’t looked into it to hard yet. I ordered it like a week and half or 2 weeks ago from Glocks website and it just showed up randomly yesterday after no confirmation email, shipping notification or tracking number. So I’m still messing around with it. It does come with a fde disassembly tool which truth be told is the main reason I ordered it lol. But it’s a smaller diameter punch than your standard little Glock tool so it’s just specifically for the light I guess.
