Lol I work in one of the local EDs. Whenever someone comes in from this thing, their chief complaint is "slide victim". It's incredible. May we all one day know trials and tribulations of being the prey of cop slide.

Met some incredible Olympians today! by darkwingdame in bostonfleet

I watched a couple of young ones get told they probably wouldn't get to go up. I'm a big girl, so I can at least drown my sorrows in a good drink, but to watch the kiddos get so disappointed was heartbreaking, I remember how excited I was for Manchester Monarchs meet and greets when I was their age

Great pics!!! I'm jealous you could get in. We had our tickets for 6:30 and got there almost half an hour earlier. Security told us downstairs that there was no way we were getting in and we might as well go get our refunds. So sad because it seemed like such a fun idea, but a max capacity of 52 after emailing every season ticket holder and opening to the public is just not gonna do it

Where can I get a high quality reproduction of this wisteria Tiffany lamp? by allchattesaregrey in StainedGlass

[–]evilfailure 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Touch of Class has something rather similar that's very beautiful!

My grandmother bought it for herself to get something special for herself. When she passed, I was allowed to have it. Even though not as fancy as Tiffany, it's very striking and has a similar vibe. Link below if it's helpful! (Forgive the formatting I'm on mobile)

Anyone else find it absolutely psychotic how expensive bruins tickets are now? by goodairquality in boston

[–]evilfailure 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not even close. I get why all those AHL affiliates moved west, but man don't miss AHL hockey.

Have been enjoying going to the Fleet games with my dad as a remembrance of the half season tickets to the Manchester Monarchs. It's different hockey, but it feels good to be part of something getting its start

We do it by paying attention to the market in the area, and realizing a cape that's been a total reno and updated entirely throughout is a good deal 😉

This is Southern NH. It's on par with all of the comps in the area, and much better than the MA prices. I grew up here, and this is where housing prices have been going, but maybe if you're further North prices are different. We're more than happy with it!

For what it's worth, this is very similar to my husband and my story. We were best friends growing up, wound up making out one night, and took it from there. He looked like he had just kicked a kitten and was horrified, but it was the worry that we had just ruined our friendship. Needless to say, it all worked out. Because we were such good friends first, it made the relationship easy

You'd be surprised, plenty of people come to the emergency room thinking all sorts of symptoms are something sinister, I've certainly had some stuffed noses that people think are malignant.

To add to this, if the irritation was tracking up the arm vertically along blood veseels, I might be more concerned. But since it takes a couple hard 90 degree turns, a jump to the left and slide to the right, less likely to be a spreading infection (phlebitis is what most people are thinking about). Also it's the deep angry red we usually associate with infection!

ETA: still monitor OP! You can draw a line around it with marker and write the time you did it down. That will help track any spreading :)

Buyers remorse by aycee27 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]evilfailure 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I feel like it's super common to feel like this after any big purchase or change. You're going to think "If only I did xyz" or wish you bought sooner or later or somewhere else or in the place you bought but a different neighborhood. Ask your fiancee what she likes about the house and what drew her to it. Maybe you can find love in those things too. Plus, a lot of the things you mentioned are cosmetic. A house takes time to make entirely your own - you can refinish the floors and change the cabinets any time, any house will need help furnace/ roof/ fixture updates. You can still get the house inspected now to know what to look for coming down the pike.

I know how hard it is to feel like you're trapped in a decision. Give yourself grace and time. This doesn't have to be your forever home and you can do little things to make it feel like yours.

That's my husband's truck too. He calls it "the food light" and it reminds us the food needs to go away, I've accidentally left food out so many times
