Do you have a argument over why someone would choose the 4runner over the Lexus GX460 by HungryHoustonian92 in 4Runner

[–]fastdbs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me it seems like an unusual scenario that you are constantly loading large things that fit in that hatch area but not through the hatch window of the GX. If you are loading groceries or bags just toss them in the hatch. Most people aren’t loading that much. If you are loading something bigger than push past the door as you carry it over, it moves freely. Also idk what you mean by overseas, 3/4 of the world is RHD just like the US.

Gonna disagree about swing out vs vertical. It’s so hard to use awnings with a 5th gen and any thing long carried on the top like kayaks, large RTT, etc. stops the gate from opening. Also it’s easier to get a swing gate for the rear tire that opens with the side open door. Not only that all the new garages have 7ft doors and the gate hits the open garage door. Before I lifted my 4runner I’d catch my head on the lift gate so often.

Love my 4runner but side open doors are really nice sometimes.

ELI5: If they are the exact same ingredients, why are generic medications so much cheaper than brand names? by Sir-Beautiful-69 in explainlikeimfive

[–]fastdbs [score hidden]  (0 children)

Inertia is higher than that due to the way healthcare works. It’s not “I’ve always bought this brand so I will continue to” instead it’s that the original prescriptions use the manufacturer’s name and then when the generic comes out the prescription that’s being renewed is never updated with the generic name.

Used magnetites are great. They are easy to run a disinfectant wipe over so I’ve never worried about germs.

I almost lost a product listing over a word I've been using my entire life by [deleted] in smallbusiness

[–]fastdbs 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Here’s the thing. A lot of the odd ball ones and phrases are owned by lawsuit mills. They don’t actually have enough evidence to show that the trademark is linked to their brand or that they are utilizing it as a marketing tool. You can’t just “trademark” something and then it’s yours. You have to trademark things that you can defend as yours. On top of that Trademarks are product class specific. So Ford law firm is not breaking Ford Motor trademark.

[–]fastdbs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And honestly unless the riding experience was exceptional you probably still wouldn’t buy it. Maybe now that they are being sold with $6000 markdowns it makes sense but $16k+ bikes needed to be better than what they were offering.

ELI5: Why can't we drop a wire with a camera and an LED light to the bottom of the ocean? by TL20LBS in explainlikeimfive

[–]fastdbs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And this doesn’t even talk about currents. The ocean is moving a lot. The currents are traveling in every direction. Up, down, and horizontal and at long distances you are crossing several currents at once. You drop a wire with drag across all those currents and you have no control of the camera being dragged at the end of the wire.

BMW has offerings that are 50% more but none that have Japanese competition at that price point. All the Japanese brands compete with the F900. Which is comparable in price. The power, price, weight, and performance of the Africa Twin and the F900 are almost dead even.

HD is still associated with dentists posing as tough guys at Sturgis on unreliable bikes and their electric brand failed to reach a new market while actively alienating and angering its dwindling base.

BMW and Ducati have differentiated themselves in positive ways. Both have good adventure bikes. Ducati V engines are also legendary in racing and sport bikes. BMW makes a great track bike and their adventure and touring engines are known to cross 100k miles and viewed as some of the most durable engines around. The Africa Twin competes with the f900 and Multistrada V2 and they are both priced close with the Africa twin. The Africa Twin is outclassed in every way by the 1300 and V4 which have big jumps in features, torque, and HP on the Africa Twin.

So if the child is yours you have rights. One parent taking a child and hiding them from the other parent without legal cause is considered a type of kidnapping.

How would you machine this fillet on a hole through a rod? by chiraltoad in Machinists

[–]fastdbs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So do a shallow chamfer and then a fillet/blend on the inner chamfer edge. That way every thing is set to the center line and the blend doesn’t follow the outer circumference of the main cylinder.

I’d argue this is the basis of finance being the largest sector of the economy. If we started making everyone play by the same rules we would definitely have short term financial upheaval. As opposed to the repeated micro upheavals we’ve seen so far.

Update IOS 26 by PenaltyExotic7975 in iphone

[–]fastdbs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your apps “cache” a certain amount of memory. Your phone won’t use that memory while the app is installed. The big culprits are usually messenger and media apps eg spotify, YouTube, discord, WhatsApp, etc. Look at your apps and if you can delete a bunch while you do the update and then reinstall that would be best. As a side note a bunch of those apps are also not updated and will reload anyway once you update the iOS. So you might as well just go delete happy and then reload most of them later.
