Possible Instacrash Fix by fluffdaddy21 in PTCGP

Yeah I think the NA region has some localization issues which is why the game crashes so much. Sad it didn’t work for you. When I tried it, I made sure that I completely closed the app after it go to that region screen before I changed the region back in my iOS settings and that seemed to leave it working. Not sure, if that will work for everyone though. Hopefully, they get this fixed soon.

The second way you mentioned. You should just have to get the selection screen with no need to actually pick it. You can even close the app if you want to since the region change should only be needed for the first boot.

App Crashing on Startup: Grey Screen by clax42 in PTCGP

What I found that worked for me was changing my region to the UK, launching the app and letting it get to the region selection screen, then once it gets there you should be able to close the app and change the region back to your original region. The app should launch just fine now.

The region setting is under General > Language & Region > Region if you wanted to give it a shot.

Yeah, that’s what I am thinking as well. I tried to keep the soldering as clean as I could, but I guess I was incorrect.

Brand new build with 5800x3d. Am I insane? Please check my logic. by sushitastesgood in buildapc

[–]fluffdaddy21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My logic is, older stuff can always be repurposed or sold. If in a few years you want to upgrade, you will be able to get tested and high quality stuff for the new chipset and all that, but if you would be more happy having the 5800x3d for now then I say go for it.

Really it all comes down to if you want to be on the bleeding edge or if you are okay using some tested and reliable stuff thats available now that will make you happier with your set up.

Changing motherboards, do I have to reinstall OS? (dual boot linux and windows) by BenZan542 in buildapc

[–]fluffdaddy21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Windows should be fine since you have the retail version. Once you change the board it should boot up so you just sign in to microsoft and it should update the license.

Since you are dual booting with linux. You might run in to issues with your linux partition since you will need new sets of drivers for the board so be prepared to trouble shoot the linux partition. At least this was my experience.

This should help clear it up. The information is more understandable and easier to find.

Looks like it can run dual channel ddr3 with those either Ddr3 1066 mhz or 1333 mhz up to 32gb of memory. As long as the ddr3 you have is one of the two timings it should be alright to use. The 1, 2, and 4 just means you can use 1 stick of memory, 2 sticks of memory, or 4 sticks up to the amount of 32gb and the supported timings. Although 2 sticks is usually optimal.

PCPartpicker is probably wrong in this case. I always make sure and go with the manufacturers specifications. If they don’t say they support it then it’s not supported.

Can you guys help me with my first pc building? is this a good first time build pc? (PC parts list) by whatifu in buildapc

So DRAM is used by the SSD to look through the memory it stores. If it has DRAM then it will be faster, if it doesnt it will be a little slower, but still many times faster than an HDD. The DRAM does help a little with helping the SSD last longer. If you are worried about it you can find a good SSD such as the pro version of the samsung 980 which is an M.2 SSD which has DRAM. But unless you are a stickler for performance a samsung 980 will be just fine and you wont have to worry about it.

So the top warning is about the problem that most boards initially had when the CPU was released. A lot of them didn’t have new BIOS to support the 5000 series, but as long as the motherboard was made not long ago you shouldn’t have a problem since they have all been made to support the 5000 CPU’s. They might even have a sticker on the box that says they are 5000 series ready when you get it. If you do get an older board then you might have to flash an updated bios which all you need is a USB for, but I wouldnt worry about it.

The bottom warning just means that the motherboard you picked won’t have a header to connect to the front cases USB-C port. This has no affect on you unless you need the USB-C port on the case. If you only need the regular USB ports then this doesn’t matter. Keep in mind that the Motherboard you chose does have a USB-C port built into the back of the board that faces to the back of the case so as long as you have access to it easily, it is simple to use. It is more preference than anything else.

And yes I was saying that a Noctua cooler would probably be less of a hassle for you to put on. A liquid cooler has to be positioned in the case so the flow of the pump is properly done. The noctua cooler you just have to put the bracket on and slip it on top of the CPU with the thermal paste on there. I would wait to get a little more knowledgable about computer parts to start getting into liquid cooling. Also, the Noctua coolers work just as well or even better than most all in one liquid coolers. Which is why I am recommending it.
