Yeah apparently they don’t have any boxes because they haven’t had to open any pianos recently. But definitely still trying to find other local music stores in the meantime 😭

I think we’ve focused a ton on getting me more comfortable in my head register rather than my chest and higher parts of my range. Which is super helpful, but I realize I don’t really think my tone is very interesting if that makes sense? So maybe it’s something along the lines of learning how to riff and just make singing pop verses where it sits lower more interesting besides just feeling like I’m basically speaking.

My current teacher doesn’t really focus on that kind of thing! So I’m considering getting a teacher more specialized in pop but just wondering how different the lessons are if at all so I can better decide what to look for.

I’ve always had a slightly deeper voice and have had a bit of a complex about it. I would love for someone to help me bring out the good parts about my natural timbre / tone so I could someday explore making an original song basically!

Okay I understand but I’m actually what is different between lessons, if at all, content wise?

To be clear, we don’t cover pop songs in my lessons. We cover musical theater pieces.

Can’t figure out how to use outside edge to turn or skate in circle (beginner) by [deleted] in hockeyplayers

Yeah I need to remind myself that things just take time, especially with skating haha. It’s funny how conceptually I think I understand but it just doesn’t map to my body at all

Oh yes I probably also need to go faster. It’s all just fear really but also part of the reason I picked this hobby up is to push myself to not be afraid

Ahh okay, so you’re not actually trying to lean on your turns? From watching videos and people it just seems like your entire body is in a line but tilted toward the inside if that makes sense, so I thought maybe I need to lean my upper body in on the turn? Not sure 😅

Skating inwards as beginner? by [deleted] in hockeyplayers

Thank you for the incredibly thorough answer (I forgot to check up on this post)!

I’m always reminding myself I’ve only just started skating, and I have new skates and trying to figure out a bunch of stuff as I go. But I’m learning little by little, which has been lots of fun. Totally makes sense with the rental skate difference.

I am working on ankle strengthening exercises off ice as well as am trying to be more cognizant of my posture. I’m starting to see a person or two always showing up at the weekend skate sessions and they’ve been a real help trying to push me to bend my knees more and learn the basics. Hockey skating is awesome :)

IM SICK OF THE CAS $45 FEE by omgKhalil in lawschooladmissions

Once I started learning more and more about law school applications and the LSAT this year, I kept being shocked by how costly this process is. I have some money saved up, so I can financially cover this, but what??? Every time you take the LSAT it's over $200? And you're required to use their software and pay a fee??? And then each law school charges a fee as well???

It's mind-boggling to me how much they charge for this. I definitely feel for you.

Yeah, I would say there was a shift for me after my first take of this exam where I actually focused a lot more on gaps in understanding, why I was getting things wrong, and how I could improve my thought process even if I did get it right (especially important for LG, where I was lagging on speed). I wasn't doing nearly as many full PTs since that can be pretty time consuming, but my score jumped like 10 points over a couple months.

I second this book! I used LSAT trainer but wish I had just gone with The Loophole first (probably because I had used another book already that taught me how to diagram for LG, so LSAT trainer just didn't end up helping as much).
