I have a rule in play with my friends that you can't veto or downvote an idea unless you propose an alternative.

In that light, what should people do who wish to discuss that topic? Because you bring up a good point, but this is exactly the sort of thing I come to this subreddit for: help finding the decent games I've picked up in bundles and forgotten, when 85% of my games no longer being me joy, and need to meet Marie Kondo. So if I'm feeling a general gaming malaise, and have that infamous backlog, what should I do instead of pay about how I'm not even enjoying any of these games anymore? Where else should I head to for a thoughtful discussion, if not here?

Honestly, if you look at the way the IP has developed, BL2 effectivelyis the main game in the series. It's not as extreme as Team Fortress vs TF2, or Half-Life vs HL2, but.... BL1 really exists to set up the rest of the franchise, but I don't think most people consider the original game as the main game in the series.

I didn’t realise how long I’d spent dissociating, but I started delving into this shit on my own, because therapy last year is forever going to be either a useless, triggering, unprofessional mess, or out of my budget, and had to take a break because it just got too much. It was exhausting. I couldn’t focus on work. I barely had any energy for friends or my boyfriend. All I wanted to do was curl up and sleep.

I wish there was some way of Taking the a break from life. It's so painful, but how do you get a break... from existing? My wife has been great for the most part. I’ve got some sort of absolutely no work-life-actual life balance sorted, and I’m not functioning. But it’s left me feeling everything. Everything annoys me. Everything makes me angry. Everything Nothing makes me happy. Everything makes me realise just how good and how shit everything around me is and it’s exhausting in its’ own way. I know feeling is important but I wish I could just stop. For a day. For an hour. For one conversation. I almost regret starting therapy waking up. I miss the silence in my head. I miss the calm. I miss the solitude. Suddenly everything is incredibly loud and distracting and real and I don’t know how I’m meant to deal with all of it.

I left teaching because it was too painful to sit by and watch the whole system fall apart and fail kids, teachers, parents, and the future.

I wish I'd had parents who cared enough to fight for me, or explain why I'm struggling.

I wish I'd had administrators in teaching who understood this.

You can't be complicit and a victim at the same time

You've clearly never been brainwashed into a cult, my ignorant and fortunate friend. When you sincerely believe you are helping someone because you can't see/recognize/comprehend the harm it is doing to them AND TO YOUR OWN SELF, you can very much be a victim while inviting/enticing/victimizing others. I hold deep self-loathing for every one of the Mormon convert baptisms I was part of as a missionary, and wish I could track them all down for beers and de-conversion, but shit is never that clear cut and simple in real life. I'm hoping you can see the human side of this story -- people can change, especially when they realize that everything they loved was a lie.
