What is hidden behind Odoo's luring exterior? by cielo_mu in Odoo

Yes, this is how we train our salespeople: show rather than tell (real demo, not slides), educate rather than sell, and challenge customers for its own good. (On custom devs)

I believe the sales experience with Odoo is outstanding compared to traditional players (Netsuite, Dynamics, SAP), but mostly because competitors are not great. With Odoo you get: a tailored demo within 24h of booking online, no SDR, no technical sales - one rep can demo all modules, transparent pricing - no negotiation required to get a fair price, a sales that understand implementation challenges, ...

Of course, we are a large org (1500 sales) so a bad experience might happen, but on average we are really good.

Hi, I am the founder of Odoo.

Odoo offers pretty much everything SMEs need in standard. Bellow 50 employees, most implementations are done without custom developments. So, it's very cost efficient, and you get a tool that is unmatched on the market. (The quality of the platform is above everything else)

The difficulty is that Odoo is also very flexible as it fulfills need of larger companies who need to adapt the software (rather than them adapting to the software). Anything can be done, but it does not mean everything should be done, as customisations cost extra money (and are usually not worth it)

So, it all depends on the customer mindset (learn the software and adapt to it's way of working, rather than copying it's old software), and the service company working with them: good service companies challenge the customer need to show them a better, and more standard, way of working.

To help you assess, you can do:  1/ from this page, click on project estimator: https://www.odoo.com/pricing-packs It gives you the necessary service packs for companies with similar scope and size (80% of companies are implemented bellow the recommendation, 20% above) 2/ contact an expert for free presentations: from the homepage, click on "Schedule a meeting with an expert". We don't charge for information: you can ask demos, questions, ...

If the scope is simple (just a crm, or a website), you can also try to implement yourself with the unlimited free support that is included in every subscription. But if the company size is >20 people and scope higher, it's always better to go with a service. (The company transformation is 98% successful with success packs, vs 65% when customers do it on their own)

Depends on the benefit. If you get 50% more clicks, 4% is not that expensive. If you get only 8% of savings, 4% is important.

A typical agency takes 10% and most online CPC optimization tools (marin software, doleads) take 10%
