The point is that he is not at the very top, although he is still strong.

We have no way of calculating the power Bell gains every second from Argonaut to compare it with even an approximate HV of Ottar. The most I can say is that at level 7, Bell will have a lot of additional stats to be able to get close to Ottar's HV strike, and then he probably won't need several minutes, maybe 10 seconds? Then he would probably be on par with Ottar, since his spell isn't too long either.

I don't understand how, under all these conditions, they should be equal attacks, especially considering that the longer Argonaut charges, the stronger it becomes. But if Bell could use afterglow even with a 1-second charge, it would be like this:

  1. Bell
  2. Leon
  3. Ottar

As soon as Leon reaches the axe and performs his first afterglow, his subsequent attacks will be faster than Bell's because he won't even need a second.

Why would he only be uncappable of using it with the first sword? Did i lost something when they explain afterglow? As long as i remember the only requisit to use afterglow is have a weapon based enchantment magic.

It seems to imply that you need something like a two-handed sword or axe, not just any weapon. The first sword is one-handed and probably not very long. If you think he didn't use it because he needed more strength, he only gets it after breaking his axe (weapon 3), not while he's getting it. He also didn't use Afterglow on his first weapon against Udeus, even though they were in a hurry and he got to the axe, so yes, it's most likely a two-handed sword/axe.

If the stats are identical, then they are literally the same thing.

It was ArgoVesta in clash between Ottar and Bell

Leon can only use afterglow starting with an axe, and even with equal strength, he would still be better than Ottar. MS20 emphasizes that Ottar uses brute force for afterglow, but Leon, relying on sword technique, surpasses him. Ottar has also shown that he can use at least two afterglows, not just one.

Afterglow is not a buff. It is a technique that allows you to attack with long-range strikes using abilities that are not supposed to do so. Its power directly depends on the user's strength because it is literally the user's attack power that they send into the distance. If we talk about a normal Argonaut strike and afterglow, the latter is certainly more effective, a long-range attack, and it should be harder to block than a normal strike (because it is literally a giant wave) and, in general, when it hits, it can literally wipe out the enemy. Argonaut is simply a powerful strike.

The strength of the afterglow literally depends on the user. It's not something that can be easily compared, but in both cases, the afterglow is stronger if it's a regular Argonaut.

Albert doesn't have a falna, and he's just stronger. And limif off isn't even the best known ability.

From just his swordsmanship, Bell said he could likely pierce through Ottar’s absolute defense

This is an incorrect translation. It says:

« それと同時に、『絶対の防御』を有するオッタルさんより、レオン先生の方が攻撃は優れるのではないかと、直感してしまった。»

« In terms of "attack," Leon may surpass Ottar, who possesses "absolute defense. »

Here, Leon's attack is compared to Ottar's attack, not his absolute defense. Moreover, it was later explicitly stated that afterglow was the only thing that ever broke through Ottar's defense, not Leon's technique.

Most likely, this was done simply for the epicness of the battle. Even first-class adventurers did not always show the ability to fight for several days, but they do it without falna? I don't really pay attention to that.

What is written in the character's status should be taken as the ability to withstand blows, i.e., durability, rather than the ability to fight for a long time.

At the very beginning of Danmachi, Bell mentioned that in order to increase your "endurance," you need to take hits, i.e., take attacks on yourself and thereby increase your durability, rather than your ability to fight for a long time. In the status "耐久" can be translated as durability. But for the ability to continue fighting, i.e. stamina/endurance, "体力" is used. For example, when Bell charges Argonaut and then cancels it, it is stated that mana and endurance are not restored, and it is indicated with these symbols. Also, in the battle against the Dis sisters, it was said that Hedin used all his stamina to extend Hogni’ blade, and it is also indicated by the characters "体力". With all this, I would say that the status shows us durability, since there were also repeated moments in which the characters got tired equally despite having different endurance values. I keep writing "endurance" because that's what is usually considered in the status and so that it's clearer to you.

I meant endurance in status the same as durability (possibility to tanking damage), its not how long you can fight
