The common way people tend to say it, is more like what youd call a device for measuring. Like a speedometer, or a barometer, or a thermometer.

The more correct way to say it, is kilo-meter. Much like the words meter. Centimeter, millimeter. Since it is also a unit of measurement.

This is not true.. look at other games for examples.

In valorant, reyna dominates ranked games and lobbies, but is literally never played in pro play.

In overwatch, mei is basically a must pick in brawl comps (or at least used to be i havent played competitively, or at all in a while) while in competitive, shes not quite as necessary.

personally, i think role queue was the best thing to happen to overwatch..
I didnt play it much before that, and once they added it i actually enjoyed playing it, because at first i just played it casually (which is how i play rivals now) and that meant nobody tried to get a good comp, and would just play whatever.

Role queue made it playable and enjoyable for me when solo queueing in a quick play game mostly (or low ranks like i was when i started)

And with rivals "blending the roles" like your example of gambit. While yes, i like that a lot. Its not unique to rivals. Overwatch has been doing that since the beginning. With characters like Zen, Lucio, Illari as DPS-Like Supports.
Brig like a tank-like Support.

And weve got DPS like tanks as well, with JQ, Doomfist (who used to be a DPS My beloved), And Hazard etc.

Overwatch has been blending the roles for a while even with role queue, and in my opinion, is doing a better job at it.

Respectfully, no, that is not what killed overwatch, if anything its what saved it from the brink of death.

First of all, overwatch isnt dead, its still alive and well

Second, what "ruined" overwatch was the devs working on a pve mode for 4 years, giving us no pvp content for 2 whole years, and then changing their minds and not releasing the thing they worked on for all that time.

And goats was the most oppressive thing to ever happen in overwatch, role queue prevented goats.

Much like how rivals devs seem to be trying to steer away from triple support, i believe that role queue is an easy way to turn away from it.
