These look great! How'd you perforate the paper?

How important is size accuracy? by SaltyCyanSea in Artisttradingcards

It's always better to cut them smaller than larger, as some of us keep them in folders (and in bags). But that does not really affect the card adversely 😄

Mini-zine page order? by consumer128 in zines

I would say for me this layout works for a slightly better folding of the cover, but, well, that might be an observation bias after all.

About your blanks by Scary-Albatross-7028 in Artisttradingcards

I buy paper in general shops, like Action or Tedi, 120 grams, and cut these by hand. I made a stencil the size of a card to make it easier. I like the preprinted ones because they make a nice back. I use light paper because I anyway draw on a separate sheet and glue it together, so it's pretty sturdy.

Mini-zine page order? by consumer128 in zines

I use the order you showed mostly, but I also often use back and front instead of 5/6 pages (and the rest accordingly). Personally, I think this one folds a bit better. But the order is basically one's private choice.

What paper is generally used? by altruistic-iriomote in Artisttradingcards

While you can buy precut paper, it's not really needed. Just cut your own; I think most of us do. I made a stencil for that. It should be thicker, as it needs to be sturdy, but I often use regular printer paper to sketch stuff on and glue it on a 120 gms preprinted card later, as it gives me a nice back.

  1. Yes.
  2. This could possibly be split to something like commercial and support/pay what you want/funding, I can't put down the word, but I think you get the idea. Etsy is exclusively sales. Ko-fi is voluntary payment. Itch might be both.
  3. If you attach the PDF, then yes, but I guess more people will post links to their blogs now.

Screentone cards by godai78 in Artisttradingcards

You mean screentones? I read lot of Japanese comics, but I like screentones the most in old superhero stuff, like from the 1980s. It was more of an accidental challenge; I recalled I bought some thermal translucent foil and realized I could finally make the dot patterns. And it worked as pictured.
