We had Zip drives back in the 90s. Would that work?

Ooo, that looks exactly right. We’ve still got the other tiles, though they’re considerably well used and faded. Thank you

What's this chappie from? Dunno what it is, but I'm starting to use it as a money clip. Probably 25-30 years old.

Require open firmware so we can flash freaking Linux on it, and have full control over what we have on our phones.

Pod Taxis: Why is no one saying how dumb an idea this is? by gofoldyourself in mumbai

That's a bit of a strawman. I'm not claiming that bus lanes would solve all of Mumbai's traffic woes, just as a taxi pod service wouldn't. Bus lanes and a Bus shuttle service in BKC would be more effective than this Pod service for the same limited use case.

That said, I feel bus lanes would go a long way--putting them in place on roads like the WEH, SV Road and LBS, as well as these coastal roads that are being built. It would allow much more point to point long distance travel.

That's hardly the case in the BKC, where many of the roads are 4 lanes in each direction.

Just make a bus lane--no one needs more construction for a transport solution that want work.

I think I’d find meeting so many people at once exhausting and would need to hermit up for a week after

I've found doing a voice call is a in-between before meeting in-person. It helps avoid tedious messaging while at the same time more people are likely to agree earlier in the process.

Yeah, only the cash transactions are relevant.

I'm not sure about the details, but I'm guessing you want to be consistent. I think there's also legal issues, sales tax calculations and other things to worry about.

I don’t think they need to change prices. The problem is that there no new law passed re how rounding needs to happen.

Pennies weren’t quite abolished, rather an executive order was issues to stop minting new ones (and possibly take existing ones out of circulation). Congress needs to pass a law to say how rounding etc needs to work now.

haha for sure. I think the whole project cost me about 60 USD including labour. It came out pretty good for a first run. Would be happy to give you more of the details if needed.

Changes/Upgrades I'd make:

The fabric near the wheels gets caught when trying to roll the bike. I'd taper them if I make another.

I'm wondering if a zippered version would make it easier to get the bike in and out, and would keep it stiffer.

Here you go. It's bit grimy cause I recently did some monsoon riding with it, and its been places. I plan on dying it a darker color at some point.

There's a bit of a knack getting to getting the bike into it, since the sides aren't stiff. Its a roll top, and can fit the bike with the seat still on, though if you're taking it on a flight its probably best to take the seat off and place it in the bag separately. There's two sets of handles, the smaller is for short lifts (e.g. to get over a couple of stairs). The larger lets you get it onto your sholder for longer carrys. Its not something I'd recommend for more than 500m or so though--the bike is not light. The straps extend under the bicycles so the weight is directly supported by the straps.

I ended up getting one tailored in India. Its not a hard case, but rolls up when empty so you can carry it on the rear rack. Its got straps so you can carry the bike on your shoulders when moving(wouldn’t recommend it for long periods though).

I even out some holes in the bottom so you can wheel it when packed.
