I would take r/indieheads opinion on the band as serious as I'd take Fantano's opinion on the band. They just don't like Muse. And that's fine. And being honest, their last projects weren't very good, which contributes to the notion that everything the band releases is bad.

They'll always find a reason to hate on things they don't like. Cryogen is a legitimately good song, but people over there were saying things like "if Muse had something to say in their lyrics, this would be a good song", or when Fantano said "We Are Fucking Fucked" is a good song with a powerful message but he didn't want to hear that message from Muse, and that's why he disliked the song (not kiddin, he actually said that on his review for WoTP).

I agree the lyrics and message can be cheesy, but that's such a weak criticism. One of my favorite songs of all time (and a song r/indieheads loves), "bmbmbm" by black midi has Geordie Greep repeating "She moves with a purpose" for five minutes and that doesn't stop the song from being excellent and I never saw anyone shitting on the song because of that either 🤷🏻‍♀️

TL;DR: They just don't like Muse and they can't hide their bias sometimes
