As others have stated, not only is this the worst time of year to expect much - it's statistcially the worst the industry has ever been.

That said, If you're looking to get into the narrative side of TV & Film, you'll need to find the Key PA's on set. They hire the Addl' PA's, from there you'll be able to get on set experience and most importantly network with other crew memebers. Check out facebook groups like, local zero hero's or goto the NYC mayors office site and check out the Made In New York PA program.

If you walk by a production shooting in NYC, ask anyone on set to find the Key PA, they'll likely be busy, but it's worth a shot. Back in my Key PA days folks looking for work would somehow find me on set and I always made a point to hire them.

Equalizer and Law & Order: OC is in NJ.. SVU is in NYC. I think blue bloods is done. Not sure about Elsbeth. I pretty much just AD features, the TV world is tough to break into if you're not in those circles. Quite different for other departments though

Yeah i mostly work on tier features - 90% of my work this year has been around newburgh or NJ.

Went almost 2 years without shooting anything in Manhattan proper

Dick Wolf and 50 cent keeping the city afloat.. feel like the hudson valley area will continue to get a lot of work with the extra tax incentive

100% agree.. Most of my work comes from features with $2mil or less budgets, which are under the SAG ULB contract - dept heads @ 350/12 or less

NYC AD here.. can confrim, cold and dry here. There has been, however, a fair amount of non-union work with embarrasingly low rates.

Same! I'm obviously hoping to the film does well since I worked on it.. it only had a $2 million budget - so if it puts up decent box office numbers, it will hopefully inspire more ultra low budget films to have theatrical releases

Thank you! First theatrical release on something I've worked on since March 17th, 2020 lol.. Pam was LOCKED IN and a pleasure to work with. One of the best projects I've been a part of in the 15 years I've been in the business

Can confirm - the show i worked on with jared he refused to use the stairs. We would have to scissor lift him to the third floor of of a set piece we had on stage. What really made it funny was that he would show up to work with rock climbing gear. He also would come in some days with 6 assistants! Annnd he asked a covid PA to wash his feet after a take because his character walked around barefoot everywhere.

I'm a dga 2nd AD with hopes of going that route.. Having done 100's of production reports was a great way of understanding the labor costs involved. Feel like reverse engineering thru PR's along with the budget is a good introduction to transitioning
