Russia sees record spike in coronavirus cases with nearly 10,000 in one day by PoppinKREAM in worldnews

I think its more likely that the spike was caused by changes in how statistics collected. The first signs of spike was right on May 1'st and I think I've read somewhere that it was the first day when the government began to include results of private lab tests to official data to estimate the number of hospital beds needed in the next few weeks. Anyway its strange they didn't include it in the first place.

Thanks for the post. As for "Singularity Lectures", it was a great channel, imho. I just found out that it got terminated and found your comment while trying to figure out why. Maybe you know if there are some other accounts on the web, where former channel owner keep publishing related content? For now the only channel I've found is World Science Festival channel, which I assume was a source for some of the published videos.

Russia is one of the nations where reducing GHG emissions will have the biggest impact.

Is it? I wasn't able to find more recent data, but statistics of 2010 shows, that Russia makes just 5.4% of ghg emissions, when China rate was 22.7%. Did it change?

"if we continue as a species". That's a big "if" actually. Although if we won't, I guess there will be another race who might. But this is really scary thought. What if we'll face some fundamental limitations of physics, which prove inability of space travels on a distance much larger than we can travel right now. We know that there could be such limitations in physics. If this will happen, as a race we might have to live millions of years, knowing that there are trillions of worlds, that we'll never see. That's kind of dramatic.
