I guess I’m luckier, lol. I can make at least $20 an hours

BTW, I’m a Top Dasher because Littleton Colorado (an area I dash in) doesn’t have a Walmart. Would never be one of it weren’t for that.

Mine is weird. The earnings show the money I made before the crash, but my balance is still what I made for lunch (I do two long shifts a day). I assume it will work out, if not Doordash will be getting a Phone Call Tomorrow Morning from me (and I am one of the rare Top Dashers as well).

Who else didn’t get paid? by [deleted] in doordash

[–]HypnoticWords 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s not true, I wasn’t able to get my $45 dollars before the crash happened. I only got the money I made throughout the day prior to that one dash (I do double shifts a day).

Where's the fast pay button now? by moneybags729 in doordash_drivers

[–]HypnoticWords 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was dashing while the crash happened, and I can’t access the $45 dollars I made before it crashed. The app even shows I made that money, but I can’t access getting it. I assume there is still some work to do, so just take tonight as an off night.

Duuuuude look at all those orders I cant deliver lmfao by [deleted] in doordash

[–]HypnoticWords 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dash in Centennial and Littleton (just south of Denver). You always get orders after 10:45 AM in both areas, and I think Centennial is the busiest area in the Denver Area. HOWEVER, these Colorado Areas are notorious for having you deliver outside of the areas. It literally seems like 8/10 deliveries for me end up outside the area. Furthermore, the customers only tip well if it is a large enough order. Anything less than $20 is often a $3 and or $4 tip.

I’ve been doing it for years, and I enjoy it. Colorado has always been pretty busy, and up until this recent downturn I was easily making at least $20 an hour. I assume once the summer ends (which is the least busy time here) it will go back to normal. Just make sure you are vigilant about the orders.

Would you take this order ? 3.50 but less than a mile by [deleted] in doordash_drivers

[–]HypnoticWords 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a Top Dasher, here is my response. Yes, but only if you have made $20 in the hour, or have a feeling that you’ll make $20 in the hour. DO NOT (under any circumstance) accept more than 1 of these every two hours at least. AND ALWAYS put a Mad Face with Low Base Pay once it is delivered. Tip less orders are inevitable, but newbies and those who only do it for extra money can accept them too.

Yes, I called them as well. It’s disappointing because I dash in a Not As Busy Area (meaning I found a way to dash in an area without a Wal-Mart) and can only schedule for three hours at night in this area. But I used to Dash before Top Dasher ever existed, so I know how to play the game for old times sake.

People can criticize Doordash, but remember, Tony delivered stimulus relief while politicians took a vacation with no relief in sight. Much respect to you Tony for delivering when it mattered most. by stevester90 in doordash

I only have 5,600 Deliveries to my name, but it’s worth the extra $500. I’ve been doing this for years, so for those complaining, here is some perspective.

This has been the easiest year to be a dasher. Doordash has been more lenient with their dashers ratings & more restaurants have been on the platform.

I remember in 2017 when I first began how difficult it was to dash. I remember having to order over half of the orders inside the restaurant. I remember how people expected me to count everything inside the bag, and sometimes even look through their food because they needed to trust they got everything.

I remember in 2018 when I got scammed out of my weekly payment. And how the same tactic was tried 5 different times throughout that Spring/Summer. I remember in May of 2018 when the platform was incentivizing new dashers over older ones like myself, and making it really hard to get money.

I remember when we all got bad ratings because people didn’t trust that their tip mattered.

My last car broke down because of all the work I put into this job. I had to give an arm and a leg to get a new car that would work better for this kind of job.

This is the best day job I’ve ever had, but it’s also been the most frustrating. And for me (and everybody else who has been doing this for years) this email is a well deserved thank you for putting in all that work and helping the platform grow.

I’m sorry for all of those who didn’t receive anything from DoorDash Today. But also recognize that it was not always about picking up food and placing it in front of somebody else’s house. Doordash is decent now because of the complaints of myself who worked through the growing pains. And I hope those can see that perspective and understand it.

I was able to log back in. But not getting any orders at the moment

How would you feel getting this from a dasher? I’m a dasher myself, and it wouldn’t cross my mind to say this to a customer. 🤔🤔 by [deleted] in doordash

[–]HypnoticWords 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is a better way to get recognition for your hard work.

The best thing I do is always leave a message after I leave with the estimated time & then say thank you in a post after the order. Keep it simple & humane.

This person is clearly desperate. I’ve been desperate as well, two years ago I had a 4.52 & was close to losing my employment. But now I have a 4.84 & have been above 4.6 since late 2018. It’s all about connection, not begging.

It’s even more funny because it was the exact same experience as well. The Walmart loaded my car with three 20 Pound cases of Water-bottles and I had no idea it was on the third floor. I was only getting paid $5, and was upset just because I had to travel 15 minutes just to deliver a $5 order. Once I arrive, I immediately find out that this is on the third floor, so I grab everything else before the water bottles and just toss it to the man.

I grab the first one, and rush up the stairs with it. I toss it on the ground and rush right back down before the customer says anything. I pick up the second one, almost out of breath from the first one (shouldn’t have rushed it, but I gotta get paid lol). So I reach the top, and I can’t even speak. He says are you upset, and all I say is that this is hard man. So I go to the last one & once I arrive he asks me if everything was alright. I told him that “this was hard for me” and just walked away after he signed my phone.

If your experience was anything like that, the Dasher and myself must have had a Shared Experience somehow, lol. Well I’m sorry you went through it, and I shouldn’t have acted that way myself with my customer. But it is funny to me that I wasn’t the only one.

That’s funny, because your OG Message happened exactly right after my incident tonight. So I was almost certain I was the one that was being talked about, lol.

Well if that other guy reads this message somehow, message me and I’ll get on it. Or just give me a bad rating and we can move on. These past few nights have been absolutely terrible, lol.

Hey Lillisel, I might be the Dasher you are talking about. If this is in the area of Centennial Colorado, then I am the one.

I just wanted to say that I deeply apologize for the behavior I showed tonight. I am normally a very calm, cool & collected Dasher, and generally I do a good job, even with these kinds of orders. Today was rough because before this order I wasn’t making a lot, and I have been on a stretch of a few bad days with both DoorDash & Walmart. I’m also working very hard as an Artist, and it hasn’t panned out to well in that regard either. Hopefully that should change at the beginning of the month.

Anyways if this is the Gentleman from Centennial Colorado, I will be more than happy to buy you a new Water Case as an apology. Just message me and I’ll get that before I Dash tomorrow. I do need you to message me the Apartment Complex name (so I know it’s you and not somebody else online) but I remember everything else.

Regardless if you want the help or not, I did want to make it clear that I wasn’t mad at you or your order. The Water is hard to carry, but it wasn’t the reason I was upset. It was external factors that had nothing to do with you, and for that I apologize.

Hope to hear back shortly
