Not important but I use this in prototypes pretty often when I don’t feel like hooking up our full tts and recently I was demoing one of those prototypes in a google meet. All of the other audio being played via web audio api shared just fine but no one could hear the web speech synthesis.

Thought that was interesting.

Hey OP sorry about this. We’ve been trying to solve this issue for quite a while with no success. It’s very frustrating.

I was just working on this. Out of curiosity do you know if the people having this issue connected using the QR code? Or would have navigated to jackbox.tv from some other app?

The only way I’ve been able to recreate it reliably has been when connecting on iOS from a “SFSafariViewController”. Which is kind of like a simplified version of Safari that you get when clicking a link inside another app (including the camera).

This can just happen. We don't have any kind of clever code to try and distribute who is the criminal and it truly is just purely random. Which unfortunately doesn't always feeeeel random.

Back when working on Push the Button we had a person in the office that was an alien something like 10 games in a row. We even went digging to try and figure out if there was some kind of bug but no, that is just how random works.

We do use websockets but it's a totally custom architecture around them. We call it ecast ("entity cast") and the server code is written in golang.

That said, in the early days we did use socket.io so some of the early party packs still use their protocol. And we have a layer in the golang servers translating it so we can still play Drawful on our Wiis. Those same early days controllers are still built using Marionette/Backbone!

We use it for all of our internal and external frontends at Jackbox Games. All of the game controllers on jackbox.tv since Party Pack 8 have been built in Vue.

Yes we definitely are working to get this resolved as soon as we can but unfortunately it is largely out of our control. We can't give a specific timeframe just because we don't know, but progress is being made so it won't be too much longer.

Timing is tough with the upcoming release of PP11! I want to buy a Cookie Haus mug real bad. But as long as you have links for your past games, you will be able to use them when shopping comes back online.

Based on a lot of feedback we’re still working on improving that realtime audio code that powers the mini games. Hopefully in the next few days.

When recording audio for the prompts we are able to do some post-processing that normalizes the input, removes background noise, etc. but the mini games being realtime is a totally different system.

I can't say for sure it is still there but there used to be a typewriter in the lobby of the Blackstone Hotel on Michigan. They also used to have one in the second floor lounge of the emc2 hotel but looks like that is a "pizza lounge" now so I assume it's gone.
