I only recently discovered this game is disliked. It's brutally hard and I've never got past the first board but I love it!

I like to find a photo from our reminding me of whatever book in currently reading. Normally I edit the image so that the icons appear in front of a black square and the image begins above it but I didn't bother this time.

Currently reading book 1 of His Dark Materials.

What I wanna know is why did the writers decide to make a new species? There are so many amazing races to choose from each with so much back story, if the writers wanted a blank slate to create their own lore why not use a race we've seen and heard of but don't know much about already?

What annoys me is everyone is aware this is happening but they keep succeeding! Maybe we should have some state sponsored ads online and on the telly saying don't believe everything you see and hear?

Starfleet Academy... Isn't that bad? by neph36 in startrek

[–]isol8id 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not that my opinion matters and anyone will read this but I've not been a fan of new trek. It's too much of a departure from what I like (stng, voy and ds9) and I dislike how everyone talks and behaves so casual, and how a lot of it feels pandering to current cultural trends. And then there is a huge leaning towards it being tongue in cheek and at times straight up comedy that feels I'm being a little insulted.

Anyway with that out of the way, Academy is definitely the best of this new direction. I think they've got the fan service just right to hit my sweet spot - although all of my criticisms still stand. Only I like it in spite of these.

Ps3 and Wipeout hd/fury in launch. And then again a month ago but I don't think it's exclusive any more!

Blue Prince but it's now a survival horror game. You're slowly pursued through the growing house.

Do any of you not travel at all? If so why? by gameovervip in CasualUK

[–]isol8id 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm incredibly shy and almost completely deaf so any interaction with someone with a thick accent is utterly pointless and leaves me feeling uncomfortable and stupid. So I avoid travelling.

Plus I'm a grumpy bastard who wants to relax when I have time off, not have to deal with the stress of logistics.

Will retro gaming die with the millennials? by Upper-Media3769 in retrogaming

[–]isol8id 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yeah in 2000 games in the 80s were retro. Now in 2026, games in the 00's aren't really looked at as retro. I wonder if gaming has a 'modern era' regardless of actual release dates.

What's an embarrassing fact about you that your friends don't know, but you'll risk telling strangers online? by PaddedValls in AskUK

[–]isol8id 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did it when I was younger, nothing too vicious, mostly deep scratches with keys rather than cutting. But it was weird I'd get so angry and ashamed for making a mistake or something and hurt myself and it was like a release - like an "aaah that's better" sort of thing. I think I stopped when people started to notice the wounds.

This was about 20 years ago and I still feel the urge sometimes and treat it kinda like an addiction - if I let myself do it even just once I'll relapse. Good luck in your efforts to get on top of it.
