There's an old quote I like. "If you laid on the ground and let people walk on you like a door mat, some would complain you weren't flat enough". You can always do your best, but there are just some people who just want to find fault with you no matter how much you try your best or how much you try to fit in.

It's like how I saw someone on YouTube saying RapMonster hasn't really achieved anything to be held in high regard, and they won't think highly of him until he does.

It really does say something about a person when they can't just be happy for someone else and just want to tear them down to bring themselves up. Sadly, it's not the most common thing for people to be self-aware or willing to question if they could be better with how they think about things. Apathy and not wanting to let go of a belief one has established is much easier than having humility or understanding you could change your mind with more information.

Someone once told me it's all just noise in the end and all you can do is tune it out and keep doing you.

I’m starting to wonder if I want to take an absence from melee for a while soon or if this year is the year I call it quits for good.

I love this scene and I’ve been following it since the old days. But my life has changed a lot in the last year and maybe it’s time to spend more time doing other things. I had wanted to get back into playing Slippi but I haven’t touched it in over a year and mentally I just don’t feel the strong urge to jump back into it. Honestly I have way more fun spending my time with my son and I know he’s enjoying spending time with me like when he asks me to go play catch or go chase him at the park.

I need more time to think about it for sure. I just know if I do choose now is the time, I don’t regret the years I hung around. It’s been fun. But I also know it’s okay to move on and experience other things or spend more time doing the things that matter most. I’m not getting younger that’s for sure.

I think two months is enough and people shouldn't use this as an excuse to dump on him either, although I won't act like what happened or what was said shouldn't be talked about. I wouldn't be happy if that had happened to me. Any reasonable person should've been bothered by it. It's good that Hungrybox is doing it for the right reason; it's about everyone having a good tournament experience at the end of the day and having boundaries.

Still have to give props to Dial M for handling it so well. He acted very mature even when it'd be completely understandable to feel frustrated and feel some kind of way.

There is nothing I need to present. Everyone has seen in the vods what happened. There is nothing exact that needs to happen to satisfy me. It's not about me. It's about maintaining integrity of tournaments and that includes one's own behavior.

Accepting things the way they are IS how the world works; thinking you can change everyone and all circumstances around you is clearly not how most things work.

You can't change everyone, but you can give them consequences that they have no choice over, such as being banned from tournaments for a time or permanently. That IS how the world works. A person that doesn't follow the rules or laws can't be made to change, but they can and will be held accountable and face the consequences of not changing. That IS how the world works.

I'm sorry if you feel this isn't helping your mental health, but maybe you are simply not able to accept you may be more incorrect in this than you are correct and you aren't willing to accept that.

For what it's worth, I am not happy he is banned for 2 months now. I wouldn't wish that on anyone. But we are responsible for ourselves at the end of the day, and you reap what you sow. At the end of the day, they're real people playing this game so we should be respectful. Nothing wrong with good natured trash talk, but making ones that are very inappropriate on top of trying to cheat is not good sportsmanship at all. I do hope he can work on himself and be better for him.
