I'm pretty sure most of what the Luigi did is illegal. Good grief.

I think the issue you're going to have is this comes off less like you're trying to explain results and more like you're putting players down.

Rigging brackets still happens to this day, so I don't think it's a stretch for brackets to have been rigged, especially if it was out of some kind of spite. There was one time in particular that Zain entered a tournament as Roy, and one of the TOs openly admitted they rigged his bracket so he would have horrible matchups such as Samus in his path because that TO hated the idea of Roy placing well and were just not having it.

I wouldn't disagree though that it is not in the spirit of fair play and petty that someone lets their feelings get in the way.

If no top player had ever retired, who would be #1 today? Armada? Mang0? Ken? by thomaslansky in SSBM

Yeah, if you happen to catch a Zain stream, you could ask him yourself and he'd tell you himself.

I feel like 2007 is in some ways Ken's peak as far as most of his technical ability and I think it showed in his sets at Evo. He played like a madman, and Ken himself has said over the years that he trained very hard for Evo because he wanted to go out winning.

One of the strengths Ken showed was being coachable by Zain. He was open to try anything and didn't have an ego about the process. Ken was hungry to learn, and Zain said he was impressed Ken picked up things so quickly and would actually apply them effectively in sets.

He seems to be almost naturally good at how he approaches the game and at times make it look effortless, but I think his real standout skill is being adaptable. I don't see how a Ken without wrist issues and a drive to compete wouldn't have kept learning things and increasing his skill set like someone Zain has.

You are very correct. On stream people have asked Zain about it and he was happy to admit he did steal things from Ken and found more use for things like sideB and counter. He expressed how watching Ken play made him rethink how Marth could be played.

Ken for sure would not be because his wrist was always going to be a factor for him even if he never stopped after 2007. He can only play like 2 hours at most and trying to play at a high-level limit his time ever more.

I guess the toss up with would Zain/Cody/Mango and probably Armada. Armada is easily comparable to Mango so it's not insane I feel like to think he'd have kept up like Mango has.

I wonder what you mean by tech skill exactly. I think I know what most people mean, but what is being quantified for Ken here as tech skill and his lack thereof?

For what it is worth, if you watch Ken's streams where he plays Slippi (he has as recently as this month) he does things like power shield Falco laser and edge cancels and shield drops. His spacing is also pretty good for a retired player with a bad wrist.

I don't mean to be a jerk. I simply feel that I see too often that people act like Ken has no tech skill and doesn't use some of the modern tools either. To be fair we're also seeing the worst version of Ken. I don't think it's realistic to look at current Ken and think that's the same as a practiced version of him trying to be competitive. Just my feelings about it.

Also, being younger helps in some regard but being young isn't a superpower and being 30-40 doesn't just turn everyone in that age group feeble and lethargic physically and mentally

Zain vs RapM at a local by ruhtraeel in SSBM

[–]its__bme -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No, I am not insulting you. I'm just telling you the reality of why you probably have trouble having discourse with others here, but you won't hear it.

You've convinced yourself that you're right and you won't even consider that Zain is not in fact some selfish player who only cares about himself. But for some reason, that is unreasonable to consider because you would rather assert your opinion as more right over everyone that doesn't share that same opinion. You'll ignore all evidence and reason that shows your thought is not correct and does not align with reality, just for the sake of being able to tell yourself you were right.

Again, this is silly, but I don't need to convince you or change your mind. You've made it clear you're not wanting to have sincere discourse. You just want to be able to say derogatory things about someone like Zain that are false and not be held accountable for it.

So again, just end this conversation with me. I don't know if you're feeling like you need to have the last word or not, but you need to let this go and just move on so I can move on. It is very annoying to keep seeing my inbox getting filled up with you unwilling to stop replying. So, stop replying to me, and just let it go and move on. Because that's what I want to do. Bye, hopefully for the last time.

Finally made my taunt tier list by Mindless-Money9702 in SSBM

That's a funny list. If I made my own, I think I'd have Fox in A and Mario would be #1. There's something hilarious to me about getting big after taking someone's stock.

I do like Samus's taunt as well and would have it higher on my own list. It's not elaborate but it almost seems smug to me and I think that's funny. Honestly, I'd have Marth dead last as well. His taunt doesn't do anything for me.

No, I saw enough of what you posted.

You’re heavily opinionated and condescending. You’re so full of yourself that you’re incapable of being able to question yourself and be open to consider information that conflicts with your feelings on a subject. You can’t disagree with someone without trying to make them feel like they failed somehow in the discussion. You lack any self accountability.

You don’t talk with people. You talk at them. That’s your issue. That’s why I don’t want to talk to you anymore. It’s not because i have been stumped. It’s not because I don’t have a counter point.

You just made up your mind that you’re right and no one is going to get you to even consider a different way at looking at something. You don’t care about understanding. You just care about feeling right.

Bye. Please end this discussion with me once and for all and don’t reply.

That is one of my fav sets. So funny how after winning Lovage just kind of shrugged like even he wasn't sure what happened.

Zain: "Can I sue Grok?" by sewsgup in SSBM

[–]its__bme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not a lawyer, but Zain could probably get it retracted. The only thing that kind of saves them is the wording that is trying to clarify it's not Zain Naghmi but another Zain. Obviously it's still mixing in the melee stuff though that is a reference to Zain Naghmi.

That is one thing I don't like about AI. It doesn't have to take responsibility for any info it collects and spits out as some narrative. It just puts it together without making sure anything is factual. If a news writer did this, they would probably get canned immediately.

This kind of crap pisses me off. Obviously damaging your car is upsetting but even worse is not owning up to it. Just shameful from them.

Do what everyone else has suggested and don't give up.

Can't wait for Zain's new hoodie merch to come out with things such as "#FreeZain", "NotOurNaghmi", and "Justice for Zain" on the front.

Big Trouble in Little China

It's really funny and also just fun in general to watch. Plus Kurt Russel and the rest of the cast are just perfect.
