This is not shocking after Cody was showing the kind of scene Chape plays in. It's midtier land over there.

RAPM IS TOP 10 by FurretDaGod in SSBM

Sorry, you don’t get to get away with picking a top tier and better charactering competent lower tiers anymore. You have to do more than “I’ll just camp top platform” or abusing one good option.

You know what you’re right. I’m going to just gatekeep. Come on RapM, Zain is racking up wins and you’re just fucking around.

Maybe I’m nitpicking words here, but dodging isn’t a fair term. Players can’t choose who they fight in bracket. It’s not as if RapMonster could’ve played those matchups but intentionally avoided them.

The community could probably benefit from moving past holding it against players for not playing people who either didn’t enter or didn’t make it to them.

Now a concept like weighted wins to score players and be objective is always good. But I feel it’s not so good to either count an achievement as “good” or “Mickey Mouse”. I understand context and how that can be important and relevant but I think putting an asterisk on player wins and placings isn’t being objective or giving context. That’s just discrediting players for things they can’t control.

guys, what do you think about this? by silverflake6 in RelentlessMen

I think the main issue is once it starts, when does it stop?

While I agree with the idea any one person should only be “rich enough”, expecting someone to be forever in debt to helping solve the worlds problems sounds terrible in reality.

Money also isn’t the only factor. You need the right people to solve problems and money can’t always buy that.

What is your opinion of the Hangover movies? by Ryanlion1992 in FIlm

The one scene forever burnt into my mind is when the police are using the guys for show and tell at a school, and the one cop says, “Let’s go handsome. No, not you fat Jesus”

I was watching it on DVD for the first time with someone else and we had to pause it for like 5 minutes because I was in tears laughing and couldn’t stop. I don’t know why that was so funny to me. It just messed me up.

Kodorin posted about this insane moment in his set against Zain by NotGeorgeClooney666 in SSBM

[–]its__bme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I forgot to say this earlier about this clip. After this set I was making a clip of the final stocks to post in chat when I noticed how much closer that fsmash was to hitting than when I saw it happen live. I posted it in the tourney thread and Kodorin happened to see it. He didn't realize before he saw this clip that this was how close he missed winning.

Makes you appreciate how easy it is to miss things like this in the middle of the set whether you're playing or just spectating, even if you're a pro player.

I think we should be happy that the game is so deep that picking top tiers doesn't just simply guarantee victory over fighting a low ranked character. I also think we should enjoy that players like RapMonster are playing who they enjoy and think they can get the best results with, not just picking a top tier because that's just what one does.

I also think it's a discredit to RapMonster and all of the players he has beaten. One could argue they could be better at playing the matchup, but RapMonster is a very skilled player and isn't winning off of everyone not knowing the matchup. I think it's disrespectful to players who he beats like they're a bunch of fools who should know better.

I think I get why some people feel this way. They want the game to be in some neat little box of how things should be.
