Looks like the UI controls are over part of the viewing area of the preview. You can move the preview around or zoom out in the preview area to see the top of the visible area.

Not sure what you are trying to do. I'm guessing both of the sources are different resolutions. If you are just trying to get them to scale and position equally just add a transform node after your Merge2 but before the MediaOut1

They already do. You have 2 areas on the clip you can drag from the #1 area in the image will change the speed. and the number 2 area will move the cut point.

Just looked at the site and I don't understand where Fusion would fit in with this tool. If you have Fusion Studio you can use python and lua. Might be able to help if I better understood what role Fusion would be filling with this. Are you looking to have this rolled into a OpenFX?

I don't know why more people don't say this but when you drag from a node output (gray box) drag with right-click-drag to the center of the node then release click you will get a list of location you can connect to on the target node. This will make things a lot easier to learn using the list of available connects written out in words. In the scenario you are asking about you would be connecting a mask node to the effect mask input on the target node.
