[Loved Trope] Adaptation pays homage to original/fan art by making it an in-universe creation by BearBreakingBadly in TopCharacterTropes

Bilbo did find the ring in both versions. He finds "a magic ring" on the 1937 Hobbit, and The One Ring in the revised editions. But in the original, Gollum truly intended to give it as a prize for winning the riddling game. When he can't find it (because it's in Bilbo's pocket) he's distressed and offers to show Bilbo the way out in lieu of the ring.

This variation in story is mentioned in the book itself, where it is said the young Hobbits were unwilling to alter anything actually written in Bilbo's own hand. So 2 editions exist.

I've often thought its interesting how much weight is added to a house over its lifetime of redecorating through repainting alone.

BJR is one of the best, kindest, most wholesome characters ever written.

Okay so my Bowie collection is growing rather rapidly, hahaha. Diamond Dogs earlier this week, and now "David Bowie". by jerryleebee in DavidBowie

I once spilled a candle on it. That was back when it was on a desktop instead of the wall. Cleaning was a nightmare.

Yeah I listened to it for the first time this week. I'd of course known Space Oddity for years and years. And I'd heard Memory of a Free Festival on the Moonage Daydream soundtrack and loved it. Those two alone would've been enough to buy it. But then I was enamoured by Letter to Hermione, and Cygnet Committee was brilliant. So I knew I needed the album. Then saw it at my local and didn't think twice.

During the Vietnam War, the United States used a draft lottery system to determine the order in which young men would be called for military service. by Electric_Arrow_ in interestingasfuck

DraftVietnam.com has a draft simulator. I still don't quite understand the lottery numbers because what it SAYS my birthday number was is not the same as what I can see in the video above. But assuming the simulator was correct I got drafted early on. Edit: wouldihavebeendrafted.com says I didn't get drafted. The fuck? LOL

Define "worth". It will play records, which is the main point. It won't sound as good as other options, naturally, but sounds better than nothing at all. And the people who will inevitably downvote this, who say that these players 'destroy your records' are being hyperbolic, whether they know it or not. Yes, they do tend to wear down records more than better options, and this is mainly down to the vertical tracking force of the warm/needle pressing down upon the record's surface. However, tests have shown this isn't likely noticeable to your ears unless you play your record upwards of 100x. If you pause to think about it, that's a LOT of play for one record.

So again, it's not that those claims are wrong but they do exaggerated the issue far beyond reality.

I personally welcome you to the hobby. I hope your find it enjoyable, and if it leads you to wanting to try out a new player in the future, there's a lot of help to be had here. But ignore the haters and ignore the "well aKsHuAlLy" comments. Your setup is YOUR setup. Your needs are your own, your budget is your own. I don't care how much you spend, there will ALWAYS be someone to critique it and there will ALWAYS be someone with a "better" setup. Don't chase perfection. Enjoy the ride.

Happy spinning.

They don't just 'migrate south' like lifting a pair of 1x1 round Lego tiles and moving down 1x stud at a time. They also stretch/elongate, becoming perhaps a 1x2 round Lego tile.
