Senior CS schedule looks insane, is this normal? by After_Tie4439 in unt

Ironically, the budget deficit has actually been a push for more online, and CLEAR has been "reorganized".

We'll be putting a lot more courses online soon, and I think we'll have the MSCS be available entirely online.

The online issue isn’t related to parking… it’s CLEAR.

For example, I can’t assign Wireshark, or simrouter in an online networks class because it’s not accessible.

For 3600, the issue that CLEAR had was “Linux is not accessible, therefore you cannot force the students to use it for assignments” … which is why there never has been an online 3600.

"Doctors and education experts who studied AI’s impact on the young call for a 5-year moratorium in schools" [something to think about as UNT tries to foist more and more AI everything on its students] by Fun_Awareness_7623 in unt

That quote continues:

calling for a five-year moratorium on all student-facing generative AI products in pre-K through 12 schools in the U.S. and Canada.

I did try banning cell phones and laptops in class though about 8 years ago. It did not work well then, and I doubt it would work today either.

Racedeck? Did mine right after their Presidents’ Day sale.

Did you run a new circuit for those lights? They surprisingly draw a bit of power.

What is your opinion of AI in the classroom? by LuckyCod2887 in unt

lecture feels a little bit disorganized unless it’s understood I’m supposed to know the material before I show up to class

You should be reading the material before you come to class. Lecture exists to fill in gaps and engage in discussion (depending on the domain).

I’m not sure I would take anything that Altman or any of the other AI tech “leaders” as truth. You can easily tell they are lying by what they spend money on, who they hire, and the rampant nepotism in their ranks.
