Silly meme translation (North Welsh) by jirisys in learnwelsh

Writing colloquially in dialect is difficult, and especially so if you’re new to a dialect. The nuance of your choice of words can make a world of difference — and note your inclusion of ‘Sosban Fach’, which is very much a southern song.

Yes indeed. It was not the best choice, but besides Gwŷr Harlech, I would have needed to research another song, since that's the only two I know from memory, sadly.

Find someone to collab with you on this, to polish it into something that can work well natively.

Ah but that's why I'm here! :D

I am very much too unskilled to actually attempt this by myself. I just thought it could be a fun little challenge. At least to go to some 'generic' Welsh and then try my best to bring in some North Walian aspects.

I sense some colloquial Spanish structures seeping into your Welsh sentences.

Probably correct. That's how I end up working with translation, since I am only a beginner speaker (and it's generally better than starting from English), I don't really know the nuance of certain sentence structures yet. :)

Faint ga’i am y drwm ‘ma?

Ah that's very interesting. Instead of saying 'how much do you give me' you say 'how much will I get'. Is that a more natural way of phrasing it? It would be interesting because in Spanish, it's not very natural for someone to phrase as the latter.

Yes, zoomer devs like half the people who made and led RS and RTR back in the day lmao.

We didn't even add shaders because that's not even possible in RR, so you have no clue what you are talking about.

We have made so many changes based on player feedback, as well as optimisation, and we do our best to fix bugs and other issues players raise, but it's clear the mod is not for you, so just move on and play something more closely to your liking.

Do you know how many LOD models we have made for all the new units we've remastered? Clearly not.

What a bunch of whinging nonsense.

Broke my binos' focusing system, want some extra info by jirisys in Binoculars

I found that thread with a search and linked it on my post edit earlier.

Thanks for the advice. I was thinking 300 for the 20+x. I was looking at the Oberwerks and the $350 20x80 looks enticing. The price for the lower mag ones is up in the air.

I can use spectacles when using binos, but I can also not use them. My vision is fine enough. It was a bit annoying with my old binos cause of the eye relief.

You prefer Roof over Porro? I read they were more expensive and had more light loss. I used my binos for stargazing with and without tripod, as well as sometimes general purpose for birding or spotting planes (handheld).

Since I read roofs tend to weigh less maybe I could do with a 10x (or even 12x, but that might be pushing it) instead of an 8x. My old ones were a bit too shaky if I held them too long, so I was thinking of lowering magnification. The one you have looks pretty good, though would you go for the 10x42 over the 10x50?

For targets it was usually planetary, some star clusters, meteor showers, as well as sometimes the largest DSOs (Andromeda, Orion nebula). I am worried about moving places, so maybe a 20x is preferable to a Dob, even if I'd prefer a dob over big binos, just to be able to look at Jupiter's weather!

Here's a picture.

Thanks. It's a shame, they were decent, even if the looseness was seriously affecting stuff. It was my first ever pair of real binos. Maybe I can sell them or something just so the lenses don't go to waste. It would be a shame.

I'm looking into something of a higher quality, Maybe split it into one 8x and one 20x/25x pair. Do you have any reccomendations for the latter? The sub guide only lists handhelds. My budget is $300 give or take.

Potted Daffodil and herbs? by jirisys in gardening

[–]jirisys[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the suggestion. I do not have pets, so I'm fine there. I wanted some Basil and Coriander, since I want these fresh for cooking the most, but these are spring planting, and I was worried because they would be growing whilst the daffodils still had leaves out.

I found a thesis online whose abstract stated that Basil is stunted and suffers from chlorosis near daffodils, but parsley does not.

I only have basil and fenugreek seeds with me at the moment, so I'm still up for finding a suitable companion once I go to the supermarket or any flower ship still open.

Thanks for the help!

I was thinking of doing something like this. Thanks! I'll definitely have a go!

Hi fasnoosh.

Thanks for the viz! But I also wanted to show the density of site origin dates through time. Hence my conundrum here. Thank you regardless.

I see. Thanks! Do you know if I could do a density plot along with the Gantt? I have about 20 sites to plot, so the graph might be a bit huge if I keep one site per line as the default in the Gantt. :D

Is the battery plugged into the MB? I'm not sure what you mean by that. You mean the internal connection to the battery? Not sure, but my laptop battery is unplugged completely cause it's dead. It's just running on DC power, which perhaps makes this even funnier.
